Savage 11 Hunter 30-30 Winchester 3-9x40mm Scope - 4+1 Rounds, Synthetic, Fixed Stock

The gun itself is a very good product but the scope was a piece of crap, after 30 or 40 rounds the crosshairs went from 12:00 to 2:00, no help from Bushnell...

After the first trip to the range to sight it in I was not confident in its accuracy.It was all over the place. Only afterwards did i notice the collar the barrel threads into was cracked. I don’t know if i got it that way or after less 10 rounds of standard boxed ammo. Savage repaired it under warranty without any issue. Now after the last trip to the range the horizontal sight adjustment feel off the scope. Total rounds fired have been less then 60.

Hey yall, I revoke my previous review on this rifle. I had a strong suspicion that the ammo i first used was the culprit and turns out i was right, evidentally the 22" barrel and 1 in 10 twist are not enough to stabilize the light weight bullets (150s) or less or my rifle just didnt like them but, after trying some different ammo (Winchester 180 gr SPP) I breathed a sigh of relief. My group sizes went from 3" @ 100 yards to 1" or less!!! Thank God. I now love this rifle and I'm sorry I cussed it earlier. SAVAGE gets 5 stars all the way, as well as BUDS. I bought this package rifle about 2 months ago from Buds. First thing I did was boresight with my bushnell laser boresighter, with minimal corrections I was ready to hit the range. My excitement turned to disgust after shooting a box of ammo thru this thing. Dispite my best efforts i could not squeeze out any less than 3 I REPEAT 3 MOA at 100 yards. I am an experienced shooter and so far this rifle has broke my heart. Keep in mind this is with the supplied Factory scope, and Wal-mart ammo(Red Box Winchester). I handload but I do not own a set of 308 dies yet. I'll keep my fingers crossed that maybe just maybe it is a combination of the two that caused such poor groups and not the rifle. I'll post again later hopefully with better results.
