This is an outstanding handgun! The weight and size allows it to handle the 40 beautifully. It truly tames the 40 down to a very comfortable cartridge that is very easy to handle. Buds was fantastic as usual great price and fast shipping!

First: Buds was great as usual in my purchase, best price available anywhere. Now, on to the gun itself. Took it home, cleaned and lubed. Fit and finish is typical for a Sig elite. E2 grip is surprisingly comfortable. First trip to the range, I started to worry as I had 7 failure to feed. I was using blazer brass, and I thought this might be an ammo picky gun, because it looks perfect. So I went back to the range a few days later with American Eagle, Federal HST, Fiocchi and Remington. All 200 rounds went down range with no issues. Flawless. Recoil is only slightly more than a 9mm in this gun. This is my first 40, and I like it. Grab this if you can. A Sig Elite that is typically $1k -$1200 for under $700 is a good deal all day long. Thanks Buds for another great experience.

The P229 Enhanced Elite came very quickly and in great shape. These have a very recent box date if mine is any indication. For the price, you simply cannot beat this. If you don’t like .40 S&W there are 9mm conversion barrels out there and you still wouldn’t be paying full MSRP on this. The action is amazing and well tuned. The finish is great and the beaver tail gets you a better grip on the pistol than the base 229. You can’t go wrong here.

Purchased this pistol for duty use and I must say that it is hands down the best 40 cal I've ever had the pleasure of shooting. The trend is that 40 S&W is a dead cartridge but let me tell you that in the right platform (like the P229 Enhanced Elite) it is awesome and accurate. I've been on duty for 17 years and although I've carried 9mm and 45 ACP in that time I always come back to the 40. Why? Good balance between capacity and power. Yeah yeah I know, shot placement and all yadda yadda...I'm just saying that I never feel undergunned with a 40 on my hip. It's a proven stopper for things that need to be stopped. The pistol itself was designed around the cartridge so you won't have to worry about premature wear and the recoil impulse is very nice. Would recommend it to anyone for duty carry, concealed carry can be done but don't expect to be comfortable doing it with the P229 Enhanced Elite especially with that beaver tail. Purchasing experience was excellent and the firearm arrived in flawless condition.

Have a 226 that i love. Looked for a Glock 23 replacement, tried this. Super accurate, nothing could jam it. But for CCW it is heavy, a little to heavy for me. Doesn't retract from the weapon at all, just not my cup of tea for CCW. Great truck or HD pistol.

Sig Sauer became my favorite hand gun many years ago when I bought my first P220 - and I have purchased many Sigs since then for myself and my 3 sons. I really like the beavertail design of the Elite - I became spoiled with my Tac Ops models with the beavertail in both 9 MM and 40 SW. Sig always performs! The quality of the firearm, the feel, the accuracy - and even the heft. I am 6'3" 250 pounds - I like a solid feeling gun and even though the polymer frame guns are less expensive - my wife shoots the new 320 - I remain loyal to the "heavy metal" frame that made Sig famous!

This is absolutely the best gun I ever owned, or shot. It is incredibly accurate and a pure pleasure to shoot. I have shot 100 rounds thru it so far with no misfires, or hiccups, the recoil is not as extreme as I thought for a 40 cal. I purchased this gun on Jan 21, and received it on the 28th of Jan. Buds is a awesome Internet Site if you are looking to purchase a handgun, or any firearm. There customer service is great, and very helpful, and it was a pure pleasure to purchase this handgun from them. I will be looking to purchase more from them in the near future. This is absolutely the best handgun I own. It is a little heavy and uncomfortable to carry but this is offset by better control when shooting. Overall, it is my favorite carry gun when my clothing allows for concealment. I purchased this gun in 40 S&W as this was what was available. However, I was able to find a .357 Sig barrel to convert to the caliber I wanted. Now I have the best of both worlds and the gun has shot flawlessly in both calibers so far. I don't expect this to change. Bud's service was good. Delivery took a little while but was not bad considering the number of guns being purchased at the time. Molon Labe, John R.
