I bought this Sig 229 with Diamond Plate slide back in the middle of July. I have shot over 1000 rounds through it so far and it performed flawlessly with pretty much any kind of ammo. I was a little nervous purchasing firearm online for the first time. And if that's the case for anyone else then go with Buds, it is one of the most reliable place on the Internet.

For starters, the Sig P220/226/229 line is arguably the best handguns in the world. How is this gun still available at this price?! You WILL NOT find a P229 (not to mention a two tone with night sights and aluminum grips) for less than $800 at your local shop. As a matter of fact, my local dealer has the 2 tone 229 listed for $929. I don't get what people's beef is with the diamond plate engraving. I think it looks awesome, but I'm a fan of different. I took it to the range yesterday and 3 different people commented on how much they liked the looks, fit, and finish. Aside from it's great aesthetics, this gun is a blast to shoot. It feel's great in the hand. The trigger pull from SA is smooth as silk. The recoil is next to nothing...almost as smooth as my Glock 19 with extended barrel and compensator. The stock night sights are as bright as my Trijicon sights on my Glock. Most importantly, this Sig is one of most accurate handguns I've ever shot. Bottom line: this gun one of the best; issued by several branches of the military; it looks great, feels great, shoots great; its priced $450 below MSRP and at least $250 below any local dealer. Buy it.

Bought the 229 several months ago and its a really good looking weapon. Don't pay atention to the naysayers who haven't even seen the Diamond Plate edition in person. The photo doesn't do it justice. Its also a solid shooter, accurate and no malfuctions in about 300 rounds that I've put thru it with 115 grain Federal range ammo. This is a good buy on a high quality hangun. Five stars for the Sig and Buds.

I just got my P229 today, and I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. It isn't my first SIG, and not even my first P229, so I don't expect any surprises. SIG makes high quality and reliable pistols. Before I ordered it, I was a little anxious about the finish, since I have read so many negative comments about the Diamond Plate finish on various forums and the internet, but I'd never seen one in person. I ordered this model to use mainly as a home defense weapon, and it is about $200 cheaper than the other P229s, so I really wasn't too concerned about the finish on the slide...all I wanted was a reliable pistol. However, when I first saw the pistol at my FFL dealer, I thought that Bud's had sent me the wrong gun! The shop was a little dark, and the Diamond Plate didn't really stand out...it looked like a regular stainless slide. When I got home and unboxed it, the Diamond Plate was more evident, but still very understated, in my opinion. Not at all garish or unappealing! I really am very happy with this pistol so far, and I look forward to taking it to the range. Bud's communication was excellent and the shipping was very fast (I am a VIP member, and this was eligible for next day shipping for VIP members.) I couldn't ask for more!

Wow, this Sig looks way better in person! Great feel over all. Took to the range and shot about 300 rounds through her. Not one flaw!!! Shot like a dream. You honestly cannot beat buds price. If your looking for a nice handling piece I highly recommend this Sig.

Another great SIg. Fit and finish are excellent and the diamond plate looks good in person. The price is incredible for a 2 tone Sig. I have only about 150 or so rounds through it with no issues. I have never had a gun throw brass so uniformly which is awesome if you save brass. If your on the fence buy it before it's too late.

This is a great looking gun. Ordered from Buds on Monday and received by FFL on Wednesday. Shipped with two P229-1 15 round magazines. Also works with original P229 13 round magazines. First range trip proved to excellent with both magazine types. Flawless performance and great accuracy with the first 100 rounds, Performance as I have come to expect from Sigs. This gun is also a great value as it includes night sights and aluminum grips.

I just received my 229 a few days ago, Buds service was great, the USPS was a little slow, but whatever, she's here now. The pistol is great, solid, well made, hefty but not heavy. Fit and finish are top notch and the diamond plate looks way better in person, the pictures just cant do her justice. I didn't buy her for the diamond plate, I bought her because she is a Sig with the new slide design, night sites, stainless steel slide, aluminum grips (changing them to G-10) and the new 15rd magazines. I haven't fired her yet, I haven't had the time, but the trigger pull is pretty smooth although heavy (I figure that it will lighten up once I put a few hundred rounds through her). The ONLY problem I have with her is the new slim trigger and thin grips. My hands apparently are big and I need bigger grips or the old trigger, when I pull the trigger all the back to release the hammer, the thin trigger allows the flesh of my finger to get pinched in between it and the frame and it's left quit a nasty little bruise. I'm going to have to either replace the trigger or get larger grips, I had this problem on my M&P .40 until I put the large back strap on. Other than that she is a beauty and we'll see how she performs next weekend, top notch job SIG, but making things appealing for people with little hands doesn't help us guys with big hands.
