Weatherby Vanguard S2 270 Winchester Bolt Action Rifle - 24" Barrel, 5 Rounds, Synthetic

I have nothing but praise for this rifle. Accurate right out of the case. I have shot a variety of factory loads from it, without issue. It has been used successfully on Texas deer and hog hunts. The .270 caliber is more than sufficient to cull these species. Though I would have preferred the look of a wooden stock, I appreciate the hardiness of the synthetic stock. I expect this rifle to be a generational weapon.

My review of this Rifle is that is a bargain for what you get for the money the case is well padded and has provision for a lock and has room left for accessories if you need I didn't care for the sling no being padded but no a big deal The scope was bore sighted well and required no changes to get me on the paper within a few inches at 100 yds One caveat is you must follow the break in procedure on weatherbys website in the FAQ It is a pain though my groups shrank as break in was in progress as well as it shot much closer to point of aim After break in was rough 1.75 moa left and 1 moa low not bad at all The scope is clear did not shift zero and allowed me to shoot well with it For the rifle I am a fan of the monte carlo stock lines you up well with the scope The grip panels are a welcome addition to the stock and give it a firm no slip grip The recoil pad makes recoil easily manageable The trigger has a little take up but breaks very clean average of 3 pounds on my gauge with no creep excellent out of the box Accuracy after break in the rifle shot just over 1 MOA with winchester super X with handloads or premium ammo it will shoot well under MOA One other thing the rifle has a sporter barrel a no 2 profile so If you get it hot groups open up fast so keep it cool no rapid fire and the rifle is highly accurate just remember this is a hunting rifle not a target gun but still shoots 1 MOA even with run of the mill ammo
