Look a little further for a better .9mm carbine. I had to replace the front and rear sights right away since the front wiggled and would not secure. The rear sight would not stay in place either. I tried to tighten them but to no avail. The magazine rattled in the mag well and did not feel that the magazine was set all the way in the well. Just to many rattles for close to 500.00

Love my new Citidel M1 9mm Carbine! As a M1 Carbine enthusiast (I own 27 of them) and my second 9mm M1 Carbine (thanks Iver Johnson) I can say that it really shoots great! Using my favorite competition load of the Missouri Bullet Company's 124 grain semi wad cutter over a mild charge of Winchester 231, bowling pins and plates at a 100 yard are easy. The trigger has a typical WW2 Carbine feel to it, but will probably turn off buyers accustomed to the AR 15 series. It's the perfect companion to my Beretta 92 Jarvis Custom and my wife is demanding that I buy another one for her! The M1 Carbine forums have lots of suggestions on how to add G.I. parts (sights and so on) to make it more rugged and durable for those who choose to do so. My Citidel 9mm M1 is also accurate and reliable with the magazines that came with it as well as the magazines issued to me by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. This M1 is a companion piece to my Citdel M1 .22 long rifle which also a winner. The M1 9mm Carbine is a hand loader's dream when you keep the round sub-sonic....and 124 grain jhp at 950 feet per second really does a number in ballistic gel. For those people who think the 9mm has no place in a Carbine for self defense, my 9mm Carbine is loaded with Liberty Civil Defense 9mm ammo that sends a 50 grain pure copper hollow point out of my Carbine at 2400 fps! Thanks Buds!

Received my M1 Carbine from Citadel chambered in 9mm. Upon first inspection, unimpressed. Lots of flex in the low quality polymer stock, cycling the bolt felt gritty, and the rear sight appears cheap. It is true that this model does utilize Beretta 92 magazines, but what I received was GARBAGE. They were nowhere near the quality of a Beretta magazine. They are very, VERY cheap knock-offs. Being already unimpressed, I decided to take the carbine home and give it a more thorough going through. I tried loading dummy rounds into the first magazine and the follower would not go down, even with using extreme force. Further inspection showed that the magazine spring was lodged between the follower and magazine wall. I pulled the magazine floor plate off, or better said, pried it off, because they are so shoddily made. You cannot drop the follower from the magazine because they have been dimpled at the factory to limit magazine capacity to 10 rounds. I removed the dimples because I do not live where I'm limited to 10 rounds. I then removed the follower to find that it had burrs from the manufacturing process ("polymer slag") and would tilt and lodge itself with no spring tension at all. There is NO Italian craftsmanship in these magazines. They should be ashamed to even put this garbage in the same box as the rifle. The second magazine was just as depressing. I did a preliminary clean of the rifle and headed out to the range. I fired 115gr. FMJ and 124gr. FMJ, factory loaded, brass cased ammo. Poor results. Over the course of 100 rounds I had 14 cycling failures. The bulk of them are magazine related failures. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry to beat the sunset and did not take any factory Beretta magazines to test. I did see that the bullets were "nose diving" during the feeding process indicating weak/improper spring pressure or a tilted follower. Both of which are probably occurring. When inserting a full magazine of 10 rounds, good luck cycling the bolt back. There is enough upward pressure on the bottom of the bolt that it requires a STRONG pull to cycle backwards. Seeing the machine/tool marks on most of the parts, I'm guessing there's going to be quite a bit of work ahead to get that smoothed out to where it's functional. I have owned 3 Hi-Point carbines, at half the price, and never a problem. This has not been a good experience. I cannot recommend this firearm at this time. The price to quality ratio is way off.

Received gun but package was damaged and mags were missing. Buds took care of this promptly.Customer service was excellent. This carbine does have a break in period. I would suggest running 124 gr ammo though in first .I had no problems after a couple hundred rounds. Trigger was very heavy but is getting better with use.Great value, fun gun.

Thought that I purchased a wood stock model - was surprised to see that it was plastic. My bad. This carbine looks and feels like my 30 cal. original. It shoots and feels just like the original. One problem is the dovetail rear sight. I could not adjust it far enough to get it zeroed at 25 yards. After 15 to 20 rounds it was very loose. Not sure how to tighten it. Could not find a set screw or a pin. May have to send it in for repair. Bud's continues to provide exceptional value and service. This is my 5th or 6th purchase. There will surely be more!

My mistake , I assumed that it had a wood stock, not plastic , I guess I should have looked closer. I have not had it to the range so cannot rate that part, otherwise looks good.
