It's a Smith & Wesson Model 29, it's the gold standard for .44 Magnums! Shoots great, no problems through it at 625 rds. Full house loads have recoil, but reloads or reduced loads are really easy shooting since it's a heavy revolver. Buy once, cry once.

Fantastic quality, you really feel the raw .44 magnum power when shooting. I recommend a hogue rubber monogrip for recoil mitigation. Overall, great pistol to have in the collection.

Power, accuracy, trigger, and aesthetics, this 4" 629 is top notch. After the transfer, I took it home and shined it up with a bit of Flitz. I then went straight to the range with a box of fifty 240 gr soft points. Like the other 29s I own, this firearm makes me look good; I hit the center ring on the target at 25 yards with the single action trigger. Up closer, at five and seven yards, drawing and firing quickly I got groups a little larger than my hand. The double-action trigger is stiff, so I'm hoping it loosens up a little. I've been watching this firearm on Bud's for some time, and it was $150 cheaper than it was two years ago. Who'd have thought firearms wouldn't suffer from inflation?? I'm 6'3" and 220 pounds and .357 magnum revolvers look small in my large hands, but the S&W x29s fit my hands perfectly. I carry my x29s almost exclusively, in an OWB pancake holster under an untucked shirt. No one is the wiser, at least no one's said anything. If you like powerful, accurate, and shiny revolvers, get one of these. You will not regret it.

Wow!!! What a great revolver!! So much fun at the range. Sure it kicks like a mule, but that’s the point, right?! For self defense, definitely ONE and done!! The factory grips are fairly comfortable, but Hogue Cocobolo grips give the 629 a little more class! This S&W 629, 4 inch barrel does NOT disappoint! Highly recommended.

This is a beast of revolver. Although its a 44mag, the recoil is very manageable due to its sheer size and weight.

Sensitive to bullet weight and brand of ammo. The one I received seems to like 220 to 240 grain magnums best. Out of the box, the S&W grips were slippery so I ordered Hogue Tamer grips and found them to be too large for my hands. Scrubbed the S&W grips in some water and dish soap and the slippery went away. Put about 20 full loads through it the first trip to the range. I don't recommend this since my hand was a little sore the next day. Had it out a 2nd time and put about 10 full loads through it. I was comfortable with that. Haven't tried it with any 44 specials yet.The orange insert on the front sight wasn't always helpful and seemed to get lost in certain lighting and against different backgrounds. I may end up blackening it. As far as accuracy, point of impact can vary quite a bit depending on brand and bullet weight. Best 3 shot grouping was about inch and a quarter at 25 yards from a sandbag. I was very pleased with that. Overall, very pleased.

Well made revolver providing excellent accuracy. Recoil somewhat heavy with full mag loads but feels like a .22 when shooting .44 special. Smith and Wesson has a good revolver reputation and this revolver lives up to expectations.

Incredible revolver, to me the best 44 mag revolver out there . I go with the 4" to get better control of the 44 magnum, 44 spl a walk in the park. But I will love to get a 6" model , for more precision and recoil control. The stainless steel finish great quality and the orange front ramp in the sight very clear and helpful . Good grips but I will recommend hogue rubber grips for better hold of the gun and sweat control . As always great customer service and fast shipping , you cant go wrong with Bud's .

Great woods revolver and very smooth action

Fun revolver to shoot. Most of what I shoot are my reloads. They're mild and don't sting my hand like a full power load. Did shoot some factory 240 gr ammo. Was more noticeable. Will take time to master. Buds and Smith and Wesson were great. No complaints.

I’ve had this M629 for several years now and it is always fun to shoot. It turns the heads of everyone at the range when it is fire as it sounds like a cannon. It is very accurate also. Bud’s is great to buy from!

This is my end all gun. Love the feel and I want to get the 6 or 8 inch model next. Very sturdy but the trigger pull is extremely heavy. I plan on running 44 special at the range because I dont want to use my 44 magnums unless its necessary, because Those are for other things.

What can you say? It’s a S&W .44 Magnum. Sales and shipping from Bud’s was outstanding.

Love it. A classic gun that is still well made. I replaced the rubber grip with wood, so I can tell you the rubber one this comes with absorbs a lot of the kickback and makes it easier to shoot.

Another example of S&W quality. Fit and finish are great, trigger is smooth and gun shoots way better than I do.

A large,robust firearm that can fire both 44 Special and Magnum. Smith out of box triggers are always good and the 629 is no exception. Shooting 44 Magnum is stout,but the Houge grips help. Unfortunately revolver ammo being almost impossible to get during these times prompted me to sell my 629. I regret that though.

Nice gun. Had a little problem with th trigger sticking and had to send it in. S&W fixed it and returned it promptly. Not a problem since.Everything else was flawless. Shoots well and accurate.

This things a "hoss"!! My favorite for truck gun. To discourage car jackers or such on the road. Being a S&W the quality is great, accuracy good too. And Bud's as usual gets it to you quick.

I bought this for a woods gun and it worked out great the recoil was manageable
