Ordered the Valor from Dan Wesson, a few days later they called to say the Valor was discontinued. Ordered and received the Valor from Bud's. Extremely happy.

DO NOT clean it with Aerosols CLP. I repeat, do not clean it with aerosols CLP. I only shoot it two trips at range, went home clean it with CLP and I regretted not know it prior. CLP will ruin the gun duty treat finish. That is my fault not know this. However, the gun is beautifully assemble tight and accurate.

This is my first 1911 45acp. Fit and finish is as good as you could want. This gun is a shooter! I ran 100 rounds through it without a single hiccup. If you have soft hands, I could see where the grips and front checkering might cause some chaffing after extended shooting, but provides a sure and repeatable grip. This is an excellent gun and I highly recommend it.

I had to wait a week till the item was shipped which was unusual for Buds but it was shipped in the time allotted. The pistol is awesome. I took it to the range and put 300 rounds through it using cheap ammo and had one failure to feed which I blamed on the ammo. The sights take getting used to but once figured out the pistol was a tack driver. Great Gun

Buds process worked very well, gun arrived unmolested, and the weapon was all it was supposed to be. Dan Wesson gets an A+ for product production.

This pistol is as magnificent as all the reviews on the web say it is. It is beautifully machined inside and out, and every part is fitted to perfection. It's super tight, but not so tight that it's difficult to operate. The slide appears to be lapped, the trigger is perfect for a combat pistol, being crisp and as light as I would want for it's purpose. The grip fits perfectly in the hand, with plenty of traction without feeling like a wood rasp. The finish isn't paint...it's a metal treatment on the stainless, and it looks like a soft matt blue. If I had to nit, the underside of the thumb safety is a bit sharp, and I wish the edge had been broken like every other corner on the pistol. Still, a minor issue. It is an awesome gun, and though I suppose the quality may seem subtle to some, it feels night and day different compared to mid-priced production 1911s. It's pricey, but a great value.

The Valor I recieved was NIB condition BUT it was manufactured in 2010... No where in the web writeup was this indicated... It is new weapon just not BRAND NEW... My only concern is has DW changed anything on the Valor since this one was made (2010) and why am I paying 2012 prices for a 2010 gun...? Buds customer service is looking into this for me... Buds did a GREAT job keeping me informed all along the way form the start on the Valor Waiting List (i was on the Wait List for 3 1/2 months) through purchasing, shipping, and delivery to my local FFL... My first 1911. I have shot others, Kimbers mostly and this Dan Wesson shoots better, looks better and just feels awesome (don't get me wrong, the Kimbers are impressive guns too). I have 500 rounds through it now, I have had minor issues with loading jams (8/400 times clean and 8/100 times dirty), I think I have to break the magazine springs in more. No ejection problems and no misfires. These are my favorite sights! You will not see the glow until it is really dark but the white outlines are visible until it is really dark anyway, great design. The finish is beautiful, I am showing some wear now on the slide latch catch point and one slider under the firing pin area under the side, it is turning a copper color (not through the coating but maybe copper is one of the layers under the black?). Fit cannot be better, it looks and feels like a custom gun, no slop anywhere but everything moves like it's supposed to. I have shot Winchester and Brazers brass and the Brazers is half as dirty as the Winchester bulk ammo. Overall, this is an amazing handgun, you get what you pay for, so depending on what else you want you may be just fine with a Kimber Custom II, or Stainless II or maybe that Remington 1911, but if you want the last 1911 you will ever need/want, this is it. What a finish...This Valor is one fine pistol in every way, shape, and form. Not a blemish anywhere, absolutely stunning. I put 300 rounds of 230 FMJ through it yesterday without a hiccup. The only problem I have is with the rear sight. It seems a little dim, but I'm sure the folks over at CZ/Dan Wesson will make it right. Anyways, 5 stars for the gun, 3 stars for the straight 8 sights. You won't be disappointed with this weapon, I assure you.

Fantastic pistol. Very nice fit and finish, feels great in your hand. Shoots extremely well and very tight I wish I would have bought one sooner. It definately lives up to its reviews and is well worth the money. This is one you will keep forever.

This is one of the best 1911's you can buy! Many people will put this gun up against a Wilson Combat any time when comparing accuracty and fit and fnish! Sweet shooter, makes me look better than I really am. This was my first purchase online with Bud's. Layaway was simple and convenient. Communication and follow up from buds is fantastic. Will do business with again. Will purchase the VBOB next when funds permit. Buds will always take care of you if you are not happy with your purchase!!

This is by far my favorite 1911. Amazing quality and Dan Wesson customer service is spectacular. Obviously, there are cheaper 1911s out there that are a good value. But if you want something that is more like a custom, at half the price, you will not be disappointed with the Valor. Dan Wesson customer service is also amazing. They will take good care of you.
