Very accurate 22 pistol from S&W.

I do not recommend this gun as it felt very cheaply made, in my opinion.

I love this pistol. I have two ruger standards and a buckmark, but this is the pistol I pick up first every time. Only problem is being sure I have the right ammo, which is federal automatch for this one(ymmv)

Very good pistol for the money. A little heavy for a 22, but it feels solid. Very accurate out of the box with no sight adjustments. So far, no misfires, FTF's, or FTE's. I'm happy with it.

Picked up the gun, was not familier with it and did not check it close enough. Took it apart at home and realized the barrel relaese button would not come all the way out, so the barrel will not lock on. Returned to factory without being shot a single time. So much for QC. Thus the bad rating. I will do another rating once I get to shoot the gun.

I purchased the pistol on 1/20/15 and received it from my FFL on Feb.2, 2015. Buds kept me informed each step of the way. Overall great service. Only complaint is delay for the check to clear, but understand the need for it. Took the gun to the range today, after the initial brief cleaning. The M22 feels good, handles good and seems accurate, considering 1st time out. No failure to feeds, no failure to ejects, and no failure to fires. Overall a great gun.

I received this S&W 22A yesterday from my local FFL and immediately took it to the range to shoot. Many people say you should clean your new firearm well before its first use, but I wanted to see how it performed straight from the factory. I can't say how the iron sights are because before I fired a single round I mounted a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot scope on it. My indoor range is only 25 yards long, but at 25 yards I was able to put every single round on paper and 95% of those rounds on target, not to shabby for just out of the box with no adjustments. This is a great gun, good weight, good feel, and all around a nice shooting gun. I have one gripe though, the magazine claims that it can hold 10 rounds which is quasi truth, I really had to ham the 10th round in there occasionally denting the case below. Then when I went to chamber a round, quite often the round would cock off to one side or the slide would catch it and not allow it to seat into the barrel. IF it did decide to feed properly the first shot went of perfectly but 100% of the time it would fail to eject, so I would have to manually eject and then the rest of the 9 rounds fed flawlessly. Solution? I don't know yet.. I am going to clean it very well tonight and just load 9 rounds until everything loosens up a bit and we will see how it goes. All in all a great gun still even if I can't load 10 rounds.

Nice starter pistol!!!! Only wish it had white dot sights instead of flat black

This is a very good pistol. It shoots any type ammo without issue. The adjustable sights are very easy to set with a screwdriver and can be set dead on at short range. overall good value. I.m happy with this buy.

This handgun fills a need in my training. It shows students the different ways handguns have placed safety, mag release button and best of all ease of pistol breaks down for cleaning... Great job S&W... Bill, :o)

Wasn't too sure about ordering the S&W 22A, as most of my friends, and my previous experience is with the Ruger 22/45. Turns out that I am very happy with the 22A. Nice quality, and very accurate. I don't plan on competitive shooting, so the 22A is great for plinking and general target shooting. Has a nice feel and balance. I might change the grips at a later date - will decide later.

Had misfires at first, 1 out of 5. After firing about 200 rounds misfires were gone. Great weight and feel to it, nice for plinking and varmint control.

I really enjoyed this pistol. It was a great entry level gun especially for kids and women who aren't comfortable with the 9mm and .45 caliber pistols. It did very well and i have had it for over a year and have put well over 10,000 rounds through it, but the wear has taken its toll and will now need to be repaired to be usable again. So if your looking for something to be your regular shooter and put that many rounds through it do some investigating before. Otherwise I would highly recommend this gun for an entry level pistol user.

Love this gun. Give it five stars..At first it was a little stiff breaking in and had trouble with Federal not ejecting properly. So I switched to CCI for breaking it in and than went back to Federal. Federal worked fine but still had two FTEs and one stove pipe Tried Wincheaster and had three misfires. So now I'm back to CCI and after several hundred rounds haven't had a single problem. Going to stck with CCI Very accurate gun and a blast to shoot. Buy it, you'll like it.

I bought one of these a week before Christmas. Holiday business resulted in my not getting it for 9 or 10 days. The first day I had it I put 50 or 60 rounds through it, and it worked perfectly. The next day it began misfiring at about 15% FTF. In all, fired about 350 rounds with15% FTF. I tried to contact S&W customer service, but they were closed til Jan 2. Got a reply from them Jan 3, mailing label to return in on Jan 4, and shipped it off. Got it back Jan 24. Put another 60 rounds through it without problems, but can't help but be apprehensive about its reliability. We will see....

Excellent plinker pistol! The built in rail is awesome. I put a holographic red dot sight on mine and is deadly accurate. No problems at all. A couple misfires out of a few hundred rounds. Nothing abnormal. Bud's was a cinch to order from and the product was just as shown/described.

Just an FYI, my review should have been 4 star, but I seem to have made a mistake I couldn't fix when I clicked two. I like the pistol. While the finish was not as expected, its at the factory, it does shoot really well, and Bud's was great.

I wasn't sure if I should give 2 stars or 4. 4 seemed fair. This is a handgun that performs well. I cleaned it and shot about 300 rounds of Federal from Walmart. No misfires. No problems. No complaints. I am contacting S&W about bare spots and wear showing on the slide and barrel. For the money, I don't think I can complain much about any of it. My wife took her first shots with the pistol and can't wait to shoot again. It was an inexpensive handgun that performs quite well. I need to adjust the sight, but I shot pretty tight groups (2-3 inches) from the first shot.
