I bought this AR in Oct 2015 and didn't shoot it until recently. I put 75-100 rounds of XM-855 ammo, using 3 different types of mags including a Magpul Gen 2 MOE, and had no malfunctions of any kind and accuracy was very good. Bolt stayed to the rear after last round with every mag. The rear sight aperture is bottomed out and I wanted to bring it down a little so I raised the front sight post 3 or 4 clicks and now it hits just a few inches above point of aim at 100 yds. I'm happy with it even though I paid a good bit more than they're selling for now. All in all seems to be well made and I'm glad I picked this model. I've always liked a ghost ring rear sight for a defensive rifle.

Nice ar for the money, good finish and minimal movement between the upper and lower.

Overall, I like this rifle. A couple of things to note: This rifle has an A2 carry handle, but an F marked front site post. While this is not a huge deal, the F marked is technically for the flat top upper. I did not mind because I was actually swapping out the upper and using the A2 upper for a m16A2 type build. Also, the rifle has a commercial butt stock and buffer tube. This is also not a huge deal, as most after market stocks are available in both mil-spec and commercial. However, the one stock I wanted to use was only made for mil-spec tubes. I swapped this out as well. I think if you want the rifle exactly as is - with no changing out of parts - it is a five star rifle. The only reason I gave it four stars is because of the mis-matched front sight/carry handle combo for anyone who might be a purist when it comes to an A2 setup.

Has some machining issues under the dust cover on the receiver .Buds sent me a replacement but still wasnt the greatest.

Really like this firearm. Light weight, compact and shoots great. I like the simplicity of the fixed carry handle and sights. I don't need or want the red dots, lasers, lights etc. The only things I changed were the stock and pistol grip and the buffer tube to a mil spec model. Very pleased.

NO ISSUES WHAT SO EVER WITH EVEN THE CHEAP BRAND BULLETS. BUILT STRONG AND ITS VERY ON POINT. ONLY ONE MAG THOUGH AND ITS VERY EASY TO LOAD EVEN WITH ARTHRITIS. LOOKS VERY MUCH LIKE THE VIETNAM M16 VERSION THATS WHY I PURCHASED IT....SHIT NO COMPLAINTS!

The dust cover wouldn't close. Had to work on it some but I enjoy this gun a lot. Only four star due to the dust cover not closing. Thanks Buds

Received this Bushmaster a2 model #90216 with Promag 30 round magazine in pristine condition. Everything looks great, gun functions well and is unblemished...love it. Would buy another for what I paid $454 after rebate. Thanks Buds as always for a great transaction.

This is a very solid and reliable rifle guys. It comes with a lifetime warranty, very easy takedown for cleaning, and no jams or failure to feed at all (I shot 150 rounds of cheap Tulammo 223 ammunition just to make sure it feeds properly). The price is not bad either. Two thumbs up from me and Budsgunshop service was outstanding as always, very smooth and easy transaction.

So you're reading these reviews to get a better grasp on the 675$ ar15 your thinking about buying? Well let me tell you right now, with this bushmaster xm15 a2 you will NOT be disappointed. Solid construction from bushmaster as usual - the only draw back is the gun comes with only 1 mag (ar mags are cheap anyway). Alot of people have trouble deciding between the flattop and the carry handle. This particular version has a fixed carry handle, which i prefer. Some people prefer the flattop for the ease of optic mounting, plus the option to install your own carry handle. Fine and dandy, but flattops have such a low profile, that they can often be very difficult to cheek (you can forget about aiming the gun with a gas mask on). with this a2, you'll not only get the ability of ease in gathering a sight picture with a scope, but you'll also have the classic original m16 look. I have not taken this pup out to the range just yet, but going over it multiple times, one can feel the solid construction and quality craftsmanship. I have no doubt it will function perfectly.

I continue to be impressed with Bushmaster quality and pricing. Some may say that there is no other brand than Colt. But as of lately; every Bushmaster I have purchased has arrived in great condition and shot well with good atttention to detail and assembly of parts. This is more than what I can say for Colt (as of late). I am Very Pleased with my purchase so far. Thank you.
