Great Montana bear gun. Light enough to carry all day, fly fishing.

I give this product a generous three stars out of five. Starting out at 5 stars, I will subtract one because the spent brass must be hammered out. I will subtract another star because the revolver binds up. I will give it a star on appearance alone, because it does look good. I will give it another star on its .44 Magnum caliber, because when it shoots, it is awesome. And I will give it the third star based on the friendly and helpful attitude I received on the telephone when I contacted Taurus today. Fedex is coming out tomorrow to get the gun and none of this is even costing me a postage stamp, The rep I spoke with kept apologizing over and over for the stuck brass and cylinder bindings. She explained in detail everything I needed to do to send it in for warranty work. I was impressed with the courtesy of the customer service so much that I grudgingly give it a three. I would like to come back to this review and update everyone on how the repairs go. If this is allowed, I will do so.

This is an excellent weapon. I owned a Smith and Wesson Night Guard in an N frame size and I have to say that the Taurus Raging Bull 444 Ultralite is built stronger (due to a thicker top strap and side frame lock-up. Plus Buffalo Bore and Garrett Cartridge both list the Raging Bull variants as guns that can shoot their hot anti-bear 44 magnum +P loads while the Smith and Wesson 44 mags cannot!) The fit and finish is on par with the Smith and Wesson Night Guard while the trigger was lighter and the grips more able to handle the recoil of a 44 mag in a 27.3 oz gun----very punishing! lol This is the PERFECT weapon to shot hot 44 special loads with EASE all day long and a 44 magnum when needed in big bruin country. The gun I got came dirty but a little cleaning and a 100 rounds of hot 44 special loads through it and it looks and functions great. I am not a Taurus fan in general and own only Rugers and Smiths but this gun is a great gun at the price.

Well let me start by saying buds has been great when I explained about the problems I had with the weapons finish and all the nicks and scratches , I have shot this and WOW what a kick it shoots well it almost hurts to shoot it from the kick but its still fun if you can hold on to it when you shoot. Now my other story is when I called Taurus WOW what a bunch of @$)*$)*$(*&.... they were rude very unprofessional and just plain rude . I explained my concerns about the way the weapon came all nicked up and scratched the Taurus representative told me well I can take it back and cold blue it but the wont do much and then he said to me whats the difference your going to use the gun its going to get scratched up any how so why does it matter that the gun came that way.......... WOW I'm not a big complainer and usually let things go but I'm sorry if i buy a new anything car truck gun or what ever I know it will get scratched but I want to be the one to do it if I pay for something it should be scratch and dent free... Bottom line is they Taurus rep was just plain rude and totally unprofessional I have always been a big fan of Taurus even when I heard other guys putting them down I defend them but after this I don't know I still own and will buy Taurus but I just know now if I have a problem I will have to just live with it. SO I have to say it does shoot straight and it is light weight and I bet it would stop a train. My only other complaint is after you shoot the empty casing are hard to get out of the cylinders?? I have read others that have they same complaint about these light weight large caliber Taurus pistols So I would give the weapon 4 Stars for the shooting and light weight and nice grips I would give it 1 Star for the way it looked when I got it really messed up.. I would give Taurus customer service -0 Stars Worst ever....

I have not shot this yet but I can tell I'm not at all happy with the finish and the condition of the weapon. when it came. I opened the box and I was totally disappointed when I saw the weapon there were nicks and scratches on it and there was some kind of I don't know what film or something on the weapon that I could not get off, it made the finish look the only way I could describe it, is it looked cloudy and it just looked bad almost like it was used. I hope it shoots better then it looks and I'm a big Taurus fan I own 4 other Taurus weapons that I'm completely satisfied with and have had no problems with them at all. I can not give it a totally bad review because I have not fired it yet but as far as the way it looked I would give it a 2 out of 10.
