I purchased mine for just over $300. When i purchased it, Remington also had a $40 rebate from there website. What a great gun for the price! Mine arrived at my FFL dealer nicely packaged. The only flaw i saw on mine was, near the recoil pad the last 1/4" of wood had little to no stain or varnish. Hardly a deal breaker for the price. If i was purchasing a high dollar Berretta i would have a fit! I have taken it to shoot sporting clay's several times and have been very pleased. It's still a liitle stiff after putting 500-600 shells through it. I can easily solve this issue by clipping the ejector springs down a little. Right now, this thing is ejecting shells 10-15ft away. Anyway, excellent gun & excellent service! Thanks Budsgunshop.com!

I have to say, for the money, everyone needs at least one of these O/Us. I ordered a 12 and 20 the first time around and have ordered another 12 and 20 pair AND a 410 since. They make extremely nice gifts for that hard-to-buy-for shooter that doesn't have a O/U yet. They lock up tight and appear to be very well put together. What else would you expect from a Remington owned manufacturing plant?

I have to disagree with the other reviews. My spartan came in perfect condition and I got the usual outstanding customer service from JR. I pulled off the buttstock pad to remove the trigger group from the receiver, hit the internals with some break free and gun oil, cleaned the barrels, and gave everything a good wipedown. Took it out the range and couldn't be happier with its looks and performance. If your wood is chipped - sandpaper and staining materials are dirt cheap and easy to use. I've refinished several wood finishes on my long guns with absolutely no training or experience with that kind of stuff - just followed the directions on the stain and polyurethane. For just over $300, this is a great over under...
