Bought this for my youngest son to start practicing. Decent rifle and scope for the price point. Bud's always delivers without any issues. I always recommend Bud's. 1 of my 10 purchases this year.

It's okay for a sub $300 rifle. Not real crazy about the lack of smoothness on the bolt action nor the difficulty of changing out the tiny little magazine it has. Have skinned my knuckles several times on both. It also hangs up a lot when trying to chamber another round. No complaints on the accuracy. I bought it for a squirrel hunting rifle and it will serve it's purpose but definitely not favorite gun.

Craftsmanship of the Rifle and Scope are excellent and I am looking forward to zeroing and hunting with this great setup. This combo is such high quality for the price and Budsgunshop even did the Price Match I requested! This is my fifth weapon I have purchased from Budsgunshop and they always come through their excellent delivery, online purchase process, and products. Thanks again Budsgunshop!

Oh I love this gun for its accuracy and smooth handling. A shout if thanks to Buds as well to be the provider of this lovely gun.

This is a great basic accurate 22. The scope is plenty good enough as a 22 scope and seems to easily get 2 inch groups at 100 yards. I kinda wish it had a slightly larger magazine but the 5 round mag is fine for plinking and small game hunting.

In a nutshell, this is a fun little plinking rifle with a lot of growth potential. Pros: Low price for the gun and ammunition Simple design and operation Nice trigger Comes with a scope Cons: Very short length of pull, almost a youth stock Bolt is a little sticky Barrel is not threaded Scope mount came a little wobbly from the factory (easily fixed) This gun has a lot of potential to be a tack driver. The glass that comes with it is nothing special, but better than you’d think. Be sure to tighten the screws on the scope mount, as mine had come loose in transit. The bolt hangs up a little, but I expect it will break in with time. If you use cheap ammo in it, expect for the casings to sometimes get stuck once the chamber gets a little dirty. The only real issue is the stock. The length of pull is very short, so if you have long arms, it might be a little uncomfortable to use. There are replacement stocks available, but most of them I’ve seen cost more than the rifle. If not for the youth-style stock, this would be an easy 5-star purchase.

Super accurate for the price! I was getting some dime size groups @ 50 yards with the included scope. I nocked off one star because the included magazine stinks. I had to disassemble and reassemble the mag to get it working.

Well...thru out the years I have owned some very nice 22LR's...and I will admit that this Savage FVXP is right up there ! Once again Buds got my Rifle safely and quickly to my FFL....they're Always good like that ! So...I got the Rifle to the Range the next day (I first read the Manual, Snaked the Barrel and gave it a quick Wipe Down...as always..) and had myself some fun ! Had to tweek the Scope a bit...but outside of that it was ready to go ! As for Ammo...I have Always been a Big fan of CCI Mini-Mags 40gr and thats what I fed the Savage. I prob got off close to 100 rounds down range. And after a bit of tweeking and settling in (just getting use to the Rifle in general)....I could Not have been happier with my Grouping at....25, 50 & 100 yards..! And sure enough my Mini-Mags came thru with Flying Colors....Not one single Misfire of any sorts...ate them right up. And there was no need to adjust the Trigger Pull....it was perfect right out of the box (it comes with the Lightest of Pulls)..! And that Accu-Trigger by Savage on these 22's are amazing...talking about smooth & crisp, wow ! It's a Blast to shoot and very happy that my research paid off. If anyone ask's me for a Recomendation....I have No problems giving this Savage 2 Thumbs Up. You won't be disappointed.

with target .22 lr this bolt gun has placed 4 rounds in the exact same hole, does it do this all the time? no, but pretty close at 15 yds in my yard.

Zeroed in easily and works consistently. It's my kids' favorite for plinking and target shooting up to 60 yards. Great value for a 22 package.

Product was exactly what I was looking for. Purchased it online and had it sent to my Local FFL. It arrived promptly and the whole process from purchase to delivery was made easy .Very straight forward ordering process and tracking.Bud's was more than highly competitive in there price.

Great gun. In hindsight I may have preferred going with the fv-sr. I bought this one because it came witht the scope. The scope is fine but I think I want a longer one. The threaded barrel, rail and nicer bolt handle might have been nice if I end up replacing the scope anyways. But that's all me. Either gun would be great and it's a matter of opinion and POU. And can't say enough about Bud's. Fast shipping. Layaway. Great customer service. This is my 3rd purchase and will always look to get from Bud's first if I can in the future

This is a great little rife. The scope would not hold zero, had to replace it.

Overall a very nice .22, especially considering the price. The heavy barrel looks impressive, and the it is quite accurate. At the range, I discovered the rear eyepiece on the scope was loose, and I'm very sure this one was not bore-sighted as it was way off. Both of these things were quickly rectified though. The poly stock is farily sturdy, except for the forearm which does have some side-to-side give in it. As always, Bud's service and shipping were excellent!

What a nice little gun. Savage has upgraded their tupperware to be much more than just a year or two ago (they are listening), so that was the first nice surprise. I have a 93 FVSS 22 mag also from Bud's that came with a super flimsy stock (but a tack driver sitll). I checked all the functions and took it all apart once home, and found the action screws, scope mounts and rings were all looser and oilier than they should have been, and would probably have disappointed if someone were to just unpack it, take it to the range and start shooting. I can't see it would have held zero. Savage does leave some rough edges from machining. There was a little red threadlock on the rear screw (?), which seemed to only have 1-2 threads engaged, but held at 20 inch pounds. The bolt was quite rough when it engages, and the extractor side had a small burr on it, but 100% functioning. Do clean the gun (any gun) before you shoot it--there was some pretty heavy oil on parts, and the barrel was filthy, which is not a real negative, so much as they may have had to tune it a bit. The bull barrel is beautiful...the recessed crown is really nice... the bluing is a little rough & dirty but cleaned up nice... the button rifling Savage does make such a pretty barrel where it counts though. I put it all back together (write it down-the included manual does not have the right exploded view) and torqued everything where it should have been. One scope mount screw stripped the head at 25 inch pounds, but the threads were in good, and it doesn't have sights anyway, so it stays... the others held fine, as did the action screws. the old stock might have flexed a bit, but this one did not appear to. I had all day to sight it, as I did a break in on it, and found it took a while before it started cleaning nicer, probably 55 rounds through the process it started showing less lead streaking sliding the dry patches easily after cleaning. Sighted in, broken in, the rifle can clean spent .223 off of grass from 40 yards... I am not a good enough shooter to require any more than this combination deal offers in terms of accuracy. Nice little shooter. Savage puts out a consistently accurate product. The assembly & finish may leave a little to be desired, but can be remedied very easily, and it's well worth it: these are shooters! Bud's delivered as agreed. Satisfied customer.

This is an awesome rifle with a very nice 3-9x40 Bushnell scope. Bud's service was also awesome, as usual, and the rifle was packed very securely. I am more than pleased with my purchase and Bud's Gun Shop.

Came with a Bushnell 3-9x30 not a 4x as is listed on the Savage arms website. Scope was not just bore sighted it was dead on at 50m with standard velocity ammo. Had 4 or 5 failures to extract in the first 200 rounds but other than that it has been smooth. Shoots great and is well worth the price.
