i have shot about 100 rounds through the pistol and I have had 0 problems,
I have a friend of mine who recommended to use full synthetic oil on the slide and the gun runs as smooth as it gets.
I do recommend the Taurus 1911 stainless to everyone. My friend has a Kimber and he said the Taurus 1911 shoots as good if not better than his 1000 dollars kimber.
First 1911 I have ever had. Picked up the firearm at my FFL on a Thursday 3 weeks back. Took it home & read over the book, looked over the gun then put it in the safe as I didn't have any time to take it to the range.
Two weeks later on Thursday evening; I take the gun out to get a feel for it by loading, unloading, racking the slide, releasing it & engaging & disengaging the thumb safety. After a few times of this, I noticed the thumb safety would not go all the way down.
Being a lefty, I turned the gun on it's side (right side up) & started wiggling the right side safety to get it to go down. That's when the left side safety fell out, shooting the plunger pin & spring across the room. I found the pin but not the spring.
The gun has never been fired, other than what the factory has for testing. It is currenty at Taurus for repairs. Not sure I'll keep it after I get it back if this is their quality. I have 3 revolvers made by them with no problems but that's different from a pistol.
