Don't buy this gun, go with the more expensive S&W Model 649. I could not pull back the hammer ,because it was so tight, so no single action practice could be had. Double action pull was terrible.

You can hate on Taurus all you want, i have never had any issues with them at all. I love this little cannon. After 200rds 38spl, +p, and 357mag no problems. Buds service was exellent as always.

Perfect transaction from beginning to end. B's has everything you need to keep your hobby. Outstanding customer service, prices, products and shipping. They also have layaway plans that help alot. I found my place. The item was clean and functioned perfectly as expected. Thank you B's from a new loyal customer.

This "humpback" is a nice pistol. Shoots .357 and .38sp just fine. Machining on the cylinder pin wheel is a little crude but, overall, I like the feel of it in my medium sized hands. Cocking the hammer back takes some determination but, it gets easier after some use. Same is true regarding DA trigger pull. Wish it had tritium sights though. A "melt" on this one would be so cool.

I have owned my 651 Stainless for a solid year+ now for which it has been my primary CCW piece. I have really enjoyed this pistol at the range and have found it accurate (once I learned where the sites line up, which takes about 2 to 5 rounds) and totally reasonable with 357 loads. I agree with the other reviews in that the trigger pull is hard compaired to other snub-nosers, but with a simple ten bones and a screw driver the springs can be replaced. After doing so I found my pistol to fire just as reliably (100%) with the weaker springs. Now the wife & not as strong friends can fire it DA without a problem.

The weapon arrived very quickly, I had to completely clean the Taurus as it ships with all kinds of crud in it. This isn't exactly unusual for Taurus...ALL my guns from Taurus come filthy. The gun functions smooth now. I recieved it with some faint scratches in the finish, so I'm a little dissapointed with that. The grip it ships with are small so I ordered a rubber extended grip from Taurus (Part 4-304)(Combat Grip) for $9.00 and $4.95 shipping directly from Taurus. The "nub" used for cocking it is REALLY hard to use. I have a blister on my thumb from it. Both the trigger pull and the cocking are extremely hard. My wife could not pull the tigger it's so hard. OK for me though. I'm hoping it'll become easier over time. The gun shoots at least 12" low at a distance of 10 yards. You can even tell just by eye sighting it that it's going to shoot low. I'll have to take it to my smith and have the front sight ground down to adjust it. Other reviews state the same thing so it must be that all 651's are going to shoot low. The recoil is manageable with .357 mags ( I used Hornady crit. defense) and very resonable with .38's. Keeping in mind it's a 2" barrel, it's not bad. The wheel rotates freely(after severe cleaning), rounds are extracted easily, loading is easy (haven't tried a speedloader) and it's a breeze to clean. It fits very well in my back pocket in my bluejeans, and a little tight in the front pocket. It's balanced well, fit and finish are OK to good (scratches on finish and big gaps at bottom of grip between rubber and frame..not so with the extended grips.) The front end of the barrel seems very sharp, I'll have my smith look at this as it might need a little filing to smooth it out...just a little sharp, but enough to notice. Overall, a good little gun (after cleaning) for it's price and considering it's a Taurus. I'd reccomend.

The weappon arrived very quickly, I had to clean the inside of the trigger group to loosen it up a bit, but the accuracy was very good, Bud's was very easy to deal with and I will be buying another from them soon.

I own a model 851 ultra lite and this 651 stainless. Love them both. Quality is great. Trigger on both is smooth and crisp. Great carry guns.

My favorite revolver. Handles .357 rounds nicely. Super quality revolver.

A well-made quality revolver with a surprisingly good double action trigger. Has just enough of a hammer nub to cock for single action firing, Small and light enough to carry in the front pocket of my jeans when roaming in the woods. Accurate enough to keep all 5 shots on a nine inch paper plate at 10-12 yards when firing slow double action. Grips are soft and soak up recoil with the .357 loads, and are very pleasant with .38's. Overall this is a very good piece.

Very good pistol overall. I really like the ability to cock the hammer back for a single action shot. The hammer is easy to control, despite being so flush with the frame. I have large hands but can still get a decent grip on it. Quality is typical of taurus, I like it, it's not perfect but name any off the counter pistol that is.........at this price! The only downside to this pistol is the fact that your speedloader (mines HKS 36A) will rub against the grip when trying to dump new shells in, causing a horrendously long time in loading! Kind of defeating the purpose of the speedloader (don't you think?). I don't see any way of remedying this other than grinding a chunk out of the grip to make room for the speedloader. If I can get past the speedloader problem, I would gladly make this a primary carry weapon, but for now it's a backup to my 45.
