I own a Taurus PT1911 and the lase fit just fine. They suggest getting a new paddle that will take off part of the paddle on the right side where the laser is situated. I went ahead and placed the laser on the pistol and found that the pistol does function perfectly well. The only reason to change or shorten the paddle would be to fine tune the adjustment for raising or lowering the laser. Mine only needed the right to left adjustment. Well, so good so far. Thanks, Bud's, you saved me $60 on the laser! Jim
