Great rifle. Put a 4X Leupold scope on it and haven’t looked back. Perfect fir deer here in Virginia. Have yet to use it in Black Bear but if the opportunity were to present itself I’m comfortable with the capability of the 35 Remington.
Highly recommend Buds, there service is great.

Picked up my Marlin 35 Rem today. Looking it over was pleased with the look and finish of the gun. Cycled smooth and surprised at the smooth feel of the trigger, cant wait to get it to the range and get it all sighted in! Love how Buds keeps you informed every step of the way with your purchase!!

I received rifle from Buds quickly, there's where it turns bad. I took the rifle home and loaded it and tried to chamber a round and the lever would not fully close regardless of the ammo I tried, I called Marlin and they had me ship it at my cost. To Marlins credit in only 3 weeks I had it back shipped free, it now works as designed, the enclosed note said adjust headspace. It does shoot very well, around an inch at 100 yards.

Have wanted a lever gun for a long time and after much research and angst I decided buy the Marlin 336 in 35 Remington. After a lot of reading and watching Youtube videos I decided on the 35 Remington because of it's superior ballistics over the 30-30 with the knowledge that 35 Remington is more expensive and not as common as 30-30. With all the known problems with Marlin rifles I finally decided to go for it and order the rifle adding Bud's lifetime warranty in case I have problems. When the rifle arrived I inspected it thoroughly with my at my FFL and found no problems that commonly are reported. Wood fit and finish were fine, sights lined up and the lever action was surprisingly smooth right out of the box. Not as smooth as a Winchester or Henry but with use it will continue to smooth out. Put 60 rounds of Remington 180 grain through it and it functioned as it should and was a blast to shoot. Surprised just how hot the barrel got! As for accuracy I was just shooting to test and function and put holes in paper so it remains to be seen what ammo it likes best and see how accurate it is. Very satisfied with the rifle. Did a trade with Gurney and as usual was very happy with the high level of service Bud's continues to perform at. Looking forward to see what models Marlin will come out with for 2019 because after this purchase I want another lever gun in 30-30 or hopefully Marlin will release the 336A again 30-30 or 35 Remington!

First time I used Buds layaway plan but it wont be the last, when I made my final payment gun arrived within 2 days to my local ffl. I couldnt be happier it exceeded my expectations. I like the satin walnut stock it also has flip up rear sight, hooded front sight and its .35 cal which is a plus to me. Thanks Buds for an easy transaction.

Upon receipt of the Marlin 336C in .35 Remington the item was inspected and compared to a 336C purchased at a discount retailer. The quality of the Marlin received from BudsGuns differed in that (1) the stock components were visually more attractive, (2) the blue was more lustrous, (3) a pistol grip cap was included as part of the stock, and (4) there was a Marlin inset on the underside of the buttstock. After firing less than ten rounds the forearm could be moved along the magazine like the slide on a pump gun. Upon examination it was found the rear band screw had sheared just below the head of the screw. Marlin was contacted and a replacement screw has been mailed to me. The gun cycled well and a good grouping was obtainable in the initial phases of the sighting-in process. The only complaint is the aforementioned problem with the rear band screw, and with the cooperation of the manufacturer that was easily fixed. Overall I am pleased with the gun.

Brand new right out box the gun wouldn't completely chamber a round and never once fired before return. I was warned by other but didn't think it could happen to me.

if you purchase this 336c be ready to take the action out the lever works very hard than locked closed I thought it would break trying to get it open some time with a file emery paper and a drumel tool and it works ok now shame on Remington for selling this that's the last one back to a henry

Great weapon at a good price. The fit and finish are good. The action is smooth, no burrs. The wood is fine for a field gun. I am pleased with the purchase. And, the rifle is accurate and, hopefully, hard-hitting. I plan to try it out hog hunting soon.

I received this Marlin 336C in .35 Remington for my birthday a few weeks ago and I am very impressed. I was worried about having quality and fit/finish issues with hearing some of the bad things since Remington bought Marlin. I could not find a used one for anywhere near a decent price, so I decided to go with a new one. When the Marlin came in and I saw it, I was impressed! Everything looked great, bluing was nice and even, no machining marks anywhere, sights were on straight, gun cycles perfectly, shoots awesome, and am very happy with it. Loaded up some ammo with 200gr Hornady RN's and sighted it in. I put a Leupold scope on it and within a few shots, I had it on paper at 100 yards. After getting dialed in, the next two shots at 100 were overlapping. My third shot opened up the group to 1.25"! I definitely was not expecting such good accuracy, especially without fiddling with the handloads. I have taken it deer hunting twice as of the writing of this review but have not shot a deer or hog with it...yet. I have no doubt it will perform if I do my part. The only thing I can really gripe about on the gun are the stock. It is extremely plain wood with a kind of dull finish. Which is fine for a hunting gun, I don't have to worry about messing up a nice stock. The stock would definitely benefit from a refinishing job if you were so inclined. Also, the trigger is quite heavy but I still shot very well with it and there are great aftermarket triggers available. All in all, I'm super impressed with the rifle and extremely happy I have it. It's a great value and every American should own at least one lever action :) Can't wait to get a deer and/or hog with it this season!

After reading so much about "Remlins" (Marlins since Remington bough them out) I hesitated to buy this rifle. My father gave me a 1963 336 in 35 Remington in 1973 as my first deer gun. He passed away in 09 and no one knows where that rifle ended up (I returned it to him when I bought my first rifle on my own). I really like the 35 Remington Cartridge, and a simple glance through a reloading manual shows it carries significantly more punch for deer & black bear then a 30-30 does. However when Remington took over Marlin in 2007 (+/- a year) the quality dropped through the floor. Since then, starting in 2011 / 2012 I started hearing that they had worked out all of the issues and that Marlin was back to a first-rate field gun. So mostly because of Bud's great return policy, I went ahead and ordered one. Boy, am I happy I did. The fit and finish on my example are great - perhaps not Browning great, but easily Remington / Winchester / Ruger great. The wood has the Marshield, but has very nice figure and I have seem worse timber on a Kimber rifle I own. The action is a tad stiff - not too bad - but new out-of-the-box stiffness that shows tight tolerances were used. The bluing is beautiful. The sights are all straight and properly aligned. So I grabbed several boxes of ammo and headed to the back yard. Out of the box this gun shot 1.5" at 75 yards with Remington 200gr PSP ammo, 1.5" at 110 yards with Hornady 200gr Leverevolution, and 1.65" at 110 yards with hand-loaded hardcast. In all, I shot 80 rounds this first time our without a single issue with feeding, firing, or ejecting. The brass is in very good shape after cycling through, and will be easy to reload. This will put a lot of meet on my table when I don't want to drag one of my pretty rifles out. I ordered the XS Sight System's Rail & Ghost Ring sight set - only because I am not a fan of buckhorn sights, and I imagine the groups would be even tighter once I get some sights I like put on. No optics for this gun - it will be my 150 yard brush buster and companion on my 4-wheeler when my AR needs a rest. This is a fantastic gun for the money. My message : Buds - thanks for another great gun at a reasonable cost. Remington - 35 Rem is on a comeback - make more ammo. Marlin - Welcome back.

My wife wanted a lever action for her first bear hunt, but felt a Marlin 45/70 had too much recoil. I knew from past experience a 35 Remington has a mild recoil, even with +P hand loads and was more than adequate for black bear. I was hesitant to order a new Marlin with all the horror stories of "Remlins", but I'm glad I took the chance and ordered it from Buds. I had it by the weekend and found it shoots well, with only a small cycling problem. It takes more force then ordinary to get the lever fully up and ready to fire. I little oil, and working the action for a half hour while watching TV has loosened it up to an acceptable degree. I'm not trilled with the stocks finish, but the wood is good and fitted well to rifle.

Great service from Buds. Gun arrived within a week of order- not bad considering it was over Christmas weekend. Gun came out of the box with the stock not fitting well to the receiver. No problems with gun operation- shoots well. Gun is going back to Marlin repair shop to get the stock issue resolved.

Update: After i sent the rifle in to the marlin certified gunsmith, i was informed that not only was the carrier bad the barrel needed to be re indexed as the sights were way off. After being out of a rifle for 2 weeks already, this means i will either have to wait another 6-8 weeks (thats how many rifles are having issues right now) for marlin to fix OR get my money back. Unsat remington, unsat. I know older marlins are great but since remington took over manufacturing, quality has gone to hell. Surprise surprise from a company that also had the 700 bolt actions shooting without pulling the trigger.

First id like to say buds guns was outstanding yet again with the processing and delivery time. 5 stars for buds. I still have yet to get a shot off since when i opened it i experienced what seems to be a common issue with these rifles and that is the lever will not lock it just pops open, and the tube feeder door was very stiff making rounds extremely tough to get in. After that the lever got stuck fully open and a round stuck in the extractor claw. All of this seems to be just because it is new and needs some breaking in. However, it is still very inconvenient and could have been avoided at the factory.
