An excellent gun.....so far I have put over 1,000 rounds of relatively cheap ammo through it and it cycles and fires them easily. NOT ONE MISFEED YET!!! So far I have sighted it in to 100 yards and even with the cheap ammo it shoots consistent 1 inch groups. VERY HAPPY. for an entry level AR it great ! No failures . No recoil .Compared to other higher priced rifles great deal. Lot of Fun. Fast easy delivery . And many purchases from Buds , no issues at all.

Purchased this rifle in 2010 and have never had a single mis-fire or a failure to chamber. I also purchased the doublestar metal magazines and they have worked perfectly as well. Fabulous weapon that is highly accurate.

Love the weapon, I have had it for over a year now and couldn't be happier. Fired over 1K rounds through it without a single problem. I would recommend this gun to anyone.

This AR is ok, was not chrome-lined and has a 1/9 twist, so don't fire anything above 62gr .223 ammo or your accuracy will decrease some. Does not like TulAmmo or any other steel casings. I had to clear jams from steel casings a few times. So brass only. But this weapon could be better but I presume this is DS's entry level AR.

I bought my DSC about 3 months ago. I am very pleased with the cosmetics, tolerences, and overall performance of the AR. I have put around 400 rounds through it and has never attempted to jam or malfunction in any way. I have sent 30 rounds through fast as you can pull the trigger and I have sent rounds through every 3 seconds apart, it has performed beyond my expectations. Thanks Double Star for an outstanding product.

Amazing gun. Finally took it out and put 70 rounds down it no problems at all. As accurate as you want, and fit and finish are wonderful. Don't hesistate you won't be disappointed!

Took the DoubleStar out to the range today. 100 rounds of Tulammo, and only one FTE. It ate all the Federal 5.56 just fine of course. Very nice fit and finish. It handled nicely and shot smoothly.

Another five star review! Received the rifle in four days. Ordered on Monday morning and picked it up from my FFL on Thursday afternoon. The rifle came oiled and ready. I am very impressed with the finish of the rifle. It comes with one 30 rd metal magazine. It is wrapped in a very thick plastic bag inside two layers of a cardboard box to ship. The actual box from the manufacturer is not shown through shipping. It is hidden by the outer shipping box (way to go Bud's!). Slapped a couple Magpul Pmags in it. Took them and worked like a charm. I did have one FTE (failure to extract) on my very first magazine. Not a big deal (steel cased ammo, the rifle doesn't like!) it fed everything brass round I put in it! I love the fact that it is a different brand than the usual you see everywhere. Buy this rifle!!!!

Ordered on Friday and had in my hands the following Wednesday. Haven't had an opportunity to take to the range yet - but the fit and finish on this rifle is excellent. Will update once I get to the range.

This is my first purchase from buds and it will not be my last. Gun was ordered late Friday and was in my hands by noon the following Wednesday. Top notch service by buds. On to the rifle, for only $659, this rifle is a must buy for anyone looking to own their first AR or just add another to their collection. The fit and finish is excellent, the build is tight and very solid, unlike some other brands and i would compare its overall quality to other Ar's such as S&W and Colt but for way less money. Ive only shot one round through the gun just to make sure it was in working order, since i havent had the time to get to a proper place to shoot it, but it cycled perfectly. Will write another review after ive had some range time with the gun.

Excellent rifle. Again, I appreciate Bud's awesome price. Everything was excellent, fit, finish, etc. Eats several types of cheaper ammo. It is a real show-piece. Only one thing that needed attention. The barrel nut was loose (as in 'unscrew it with a flick of your finger' loose). I believe I understand why. From loose to tight is barely a single notch on the barrel nut. It was all I could do (holding gun with one hand) to turn the nut one notch. It is not possible for the nut to turn itself loose because the gas tube rests in the notch straight up from the barrel. My guess is that it came that way from Doublestar. Nonetheless, I am VERY pleased with the firearm. It is a blast to shoot from the hip. Lots of awesome upgrades available. Mine is for self defense so - open sights for me. Get it. You won't be disappointed.

Absolutely fantastic weapon. Build and part quality as good as Colt or Bushmaster for half the price! Buds did a great job too. Suggest running Magpul P-Mags. I have 500 rounds through it without a hiccup. One of the best purchases I have ever made.

i have had this for ar-15 sometime now the add says .233 but it is cambered for 5.56 as well i have to say the gun is the best ar15 i have owned( i had a few) 500 rounds no problems at all with Russia ammo or military 5.56 or .223 eats all with no issues

What a fun gun I have had a blast with this.My first AR so I have nothing to compare it to but all I can say is for I have had a blast easy to disassemble and clean. Have not had a miss fire using the cheap silver bear ammo. If your looking for a fun gun I would get this one.

I bought my Star 15 from Buds about a year and a half ago. It has been a great gun from the first round to now. No problems with any ammo I have fed through it.

Awesome gun, not just for the price, but for any price. Well built, tight, nicely finished. I have put all kinds of ammo through this thing, from Tula to Federal to reloads, 55 and 62 grain, .556 and .223. No problems whatsoever after 300+ rounds. A+ all around, get yourself one while you can!

This is a great weapon. It is tight and well built. I would recommend this gun for anyone looking for an M-4. I took it out last week and zeroed it in with the numerous sights I put on it, scope, iron sights and red dot. I had to use a riser for my scope in order to clear the front sight which appearred in the reticle but easy fix. The weapon shot remarkable tight groups and it is every bit as good as all the more expensive M-4's on the market. I am retired military and am used to the M-4/M16 configuration and this weapon is simply great. As for Bud's I am very pleased with the customer service as so many others have mentioned in previous posts. The weapon arrived at the designated store that Bud's recommended and was a very easy transaction. I will be buying more from Bud's in the future seeing that this was my first purchase.

Bought two of these for my sons and finally got to get one for myself. They are a great rifle, nothing at all negative, great quality, dependability and value. No need to spend more for a top of the line AR. Buds gives the best deals on everything.

Love this gun! Flawless with 500+ rounds so far. Averaging 2 inch groups at 100 yards with Tula 55 grain FMJ, and I know the gun is capable of even better (I'm not a great shooter). For some reason, my gun shoots more accurately with Tula (20 cents/round) than other brands I've tried so far (Remington and Federal/AE 30+ cents/round). Haven't tried the really expensive ammo yet. Trigger could be a bit smoother and lighter for target shooting. Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase.

This is a great rifle!!! It was shipped 3 days after my order was placed and arrived within 3 business days. The finish on this rifle is fantastic and is just an overall solid purchase for the price. All the components of this AR performed as they were suppose and i have not encountered any problems while functioning it. The guys at the FFL Dealer thought that it was a bushmaster :). 5 stars!!!!!

I have owned this rifle for over a year now and I am happy to say it has been a pleasure. The gun has worked properly and the value to performance ratio couldn't be better. Doublestar produces a great product and I have since outfitted mine with all the trimmings. I have yet to have any issues with this weapon. It has cycled all types of ammo that I have ran. the quality and machining are precise and sturdy. Wonderful trigger and crisp operation.
