The weapon arrived in a very clean condition. The grips are worn and I ordered a pair from S & W. I cleaned and oiled the pistol, then took it to the range. I tried two different types of ammo and had a lot of problems with feeding, extraction, (stove piping). I know it wasn't the ammo because I had five other pistols with me at the time with no issues. The springs in the magazines are very weak. If I had to do it all over again, I would not have bought this pistol. Maybe it was the luck of the draw on this one. Most of the other reviews have been very positive. I've ordered quite a few weapons from Buds and the service is always great.

Well - I'm a Sig guy, however one day 3 weeks ago I showed up at my range to shoot my assorted sig sauer pistols and I noticed an older guy with a great looking stainless steel S&W 5906. I thought that's a bad @ss lokking pistol. I finally walked over during the cold range and checked it out. The action on his trigger draw and the single action was as crisp as my high dollar sigs. Within a week I had a Bud's Gun purchased S&W 5906 stripped in my workshop cleaning the crud and years of carbon build-up out of it. Put her back together and headed to the range. These pistols are the best value on the market right now. Be very prepared to clean, polish, and then clean, and polish some more. I'm very happy with my purchase and buds was right on with price and delivery.

The 5906 is a classic - a very rewarding to own "old school" hi-cap 9mm. The one I received from Bud's was truly in very good condition, except for the aged Hogue grips (which I expected, based on the photo on the web site). I replaced them with S&W factory delrin grips ($18) (Hogue's are nice grips to reduce recoil, but hardly needed on this pistol for that purpose; the factory grips are slimmer and look better, too). My 5906 looks like it was carried some but shot very little over its lifespan. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and once again, with the service from Bud's.

as usal Bud's shipped the gun quickly sent 2 mags with it. The gun itself was very dirty and the grips had a lot of holster wear. it looked like the gun had been dropped. I picked it up at Dominion's Shooting Range in Richmond, va. Best FFL in town. Went home and broke the gun down and soaked it in gun cleaner. it took an Hour to scrub all of the dirt and powder marks off. rubbed out the scuff marks. gun looks practically new. I can't believe that a LEO would bet HIS/HER life on such a dirty gun. I took the gun to the range and shot it. I put about 100 rounds through it and it is the best 9mm i have ever shot. NOT ONE FAILURE ! nice tight groups even at 25 yards. well worth the money i have spent. THANKS BUD'S

I swear I think I got the one they used for the photo here on the site, they looked the same to me. Anyways, like everyone else I received two 15rd mags. The price for this tank was great. All that I had to do was go at her with a nylon brush, Q-tips, and some Remoil for a good 45 minutes. Slapped some new 7 dollar Hogues on it and it looked like a 700 dollar gun, shoots like it too, I was shooting 3 inch groups at 10yds with 124 grain MBI reloads. Only other thing to note is BYOGC (bring your own gun case), cause you'll only get a cardboard box with some foam in it here. (Not a con, just something to keep in mind)

Very pleased with the grade of this gun. Very little holster wear on the underside of the frame. Gun required thorough cleaning and a new set of Hogue grips. Highly recommend.

Purchased this 5906 9mm, saw it, liked it, bought it based on he very good Bud's rated it at. Never bought a used gun on line b4 but I trust Bud's. Ordered it on Saturday, it shipped on Monday, and I had it Wednesday, now that's fast. When we took it out of the box my FFL and I looked the gun over and could not believe the quality. You could tell it was used it's pretty dirty, but it has not been shot much. I will continue to do business with Bud's, great prices, great selection, and fast. Thanks Bud's. Got-a go on the way to the range to shoot it. If it shoots as good as it looks,it will be a good addition to the collection.

Ordered Saturday, shipped Monday, picked up from FFL Thursday. Nice. Gun is as advertised.. Nice and tight.plus a really sweet trigger Maybe it's previous owner/user had a trigger job done? Received 2 mags instead of the 1 advertised. Shoots to point of aim at 20 yards. Approx 100 rounds fired with no failures - FMJ and JHP. Very satisfied.

Bud's continues to please! I slapped some new Hogue Kingwood checkered grips on this thing after cleaning it up (very little) and it looks like a thousand dollar pistol. I love the weight of the steel! The insides look great. Bud's shipping was prompt. I could not be happier with this purchase! Dave

Well guys, I must be the luckiest of everyone so far! I got my 5906 on Friday after ordering it on Monday, so thank you buds for the fast shipping! When I opened the box at my FFL it looks like it was lightly carries, only a few little dings and holster wear, but it is when I took it apart that I was amazed! This gun appears to have NEVER been fired! There is NO wear, dirt, grime, or lubricant inside and its easy to see on a SS firearm. I honestly believe this to be unfired and with a little polish I will have this thing looking new. Like others have said mine came with two 15rd mags as well so that was also a bonus. Overall, this may have been the best purchase I've made in recent years and possibly ever! If you're on the edge about getting one of these, don't hesitate because a gun of this quality and SS would cost you a fortune this day in age, and these won't be available forever. Thanks buds!!!

At first glance, the gun did not look like it was in very good condition: it was very dirty, looked like it had been lubricated with dirty motor oil and the rear novak sight had slight rust all over it. After a good cleaning, the rust went away and the gun looks like it was used very lightly. It is in excellent condition. The curved polymer S&W grips that is came with are also in excellent condition. Like many other reviewers, this gun came with two 15 round magazines. The magazines, like the gun, were dirty and needed cleaning but that's to be expected. This is not the first and will definitely not be the last firearm purchase from Buds. It is a great gun, at a great price and came in great condition.

This 5906 was my first used gun purchase through the internet. Although apprehensive about buying sight unseen, I really wanted the gun and figured it was worth the "gamble". I have numerous hand guns and carry daily. I carry the plastic guns during the day but I like steel next to my bed and at the range. I picked this gun up Monday (5 days since ordering); it looked really good and did not really need the cleaning I gave it, The gun appeared recently cleaned and lightly oiled.. came with 2 magazines. When I disassembled it I was amazed at the lack of wear. Although the grips showed a good deal of wear and the frame had some superficial scratches from holstering and carrying... the internals and barrel looked almost new. The gun certainly did not have anywhere near a thousand rounds through it and will get more use from me in the next month than it has seen since it was manufactured. I replaced the grips with a $20 set from Hogue, hit it with some stainless steel polish and took it to the range today (looks terrific). I ran almost 100 rounds through it with no failures of any kind. Accuracy at 7 and 15 yards was excellent with 2-3 in groups without a rest. Looks almost as good as my 92FS Inox but shoots a lot better. This is my new favorite gun. John from Houston

Just received my 5906 on Friday and it was exactly as described (except that it did come with two mags like the other reviewers have noted - can't complain about that). Very good condition with only minor holster wear. Insides are like new. No scratches or dings and really not that dirty inside or out. Already ordered new grips, mag butt plates, and springs from S&W and will find out how it shoots as soon as I make it like new again. You can't beat those Gen 3 Smiths. This is the best deal you can get on a ss semi auto. Mine came with 2 mags, serations, good grips, and looked much nicer then the stock photo. I know that everyone will not get the kick ass gun that I did but at $350 it is well worth the gamble. Thanks Buds I will be dealing with you again.

WOW! first off this was one dirty gun. Before doing the transfer you are suppose to inspect before excepting. My FFL dealer owns a shooting range. We were going to shoot the gun to make sure everything worked before transfer. This gun was so dirty we were afraid to shoot it. So much crap in the barrel you could hardly see any rifling. That being said, we field stripped the gun and to our surprise there looked to be very little wear. You could still see machine marks on the slide where you usually see them disappear after several hundred shots. There were no scratches on the slide or frame at all. We did the transfer and I took the gun home. I spent 2 hours cleaning and detailing. It looks almost new. Now the grips look nasty. They are the hogue rubber grips and starting to peal. It was advertised with one magazine, it came with two. I never talked with any salesman before buying so I asked no questions. The gun I got was one of the latest generation made. I know this could be a crap shoot but I did very, very well. My FFL dealer was very surprised I got this quality of gun for the price I paid. Thank you Bud! I will be back. Very desirable gun at a very very good price and fast shipping. I bought it Sunday night online and had it in hand Tuesday afternoon.

I bought 3 S&W 5906, 2 of such were the ones listed as good and 1 very good condition. The two listed As good condition, were as stated in good condition CAME WITH ONE MAGAZINE with on of two minor scratches, which were taken out With a little 400/600 grit followed by polishing compound. Gun looks good. Was a lot of cleaning needed especially Under the grip. After all was said and done good solid buy. Now on to the gun that was purchased as a very good Condition, needed a good cleaning, minor holster wear, BONUS IT CAME WITH TWO MAGAZINES. All in all good buy Also would recommend purchasing new grips as the grips on all three guns were very worn, functional but well worn. Buds shipping and service was fast and as always good.

MY FIRST PURCHASE WITH BUDS IM REALLY NOT TOO HAPPY THE GUN IS NOTHING LIKE A CUSTOM SW 5906 WHICH IS INDICATED BY THE PICTURE ABOVE I DO UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS A STOCK PHOTO BUT IT IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THEN PICTURED ABOVE NO FRONT SERRATIONS NO BLACK SAFETY OR BLACK TAKEDOWN LEVER ALSO MINE WAS NOT AS PERFECT OR EVEN NEAR IT HAD SOME RUST MY FFL ACTUALLY DESCRIBED IT AS AVERAGE. THE OTHER REVIEWS POSTED INDICATED THAT THE GUN WAS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION SO THAT IS CONCERNING TO ME SEEMS I GOT A GUN FROM THE WRONG BATCH I HOPE THAT THESE CONCERNS CAN BE ADDRESSED IN SOME WAY.

this thing is in great condition and is a steal at this price. mine did not have the front cocking serrations as the one in the picture did but it did come with two magazines. i doubt this pistol has 100 rounds through it yet. very nice. if they still made these today they would cost you about a grand to make out of stainless and of this quality. if your looking for a nice 9mm handgun this is the one. you can always buy a new plastic one but you dont always have the opportunity to purchase the finest semi auto smith and wesson ever made.

This is my first Buds purchase ever. I ordered the 5906 on 5/14 and it didn't ship until 5/23, so that would be my only complaint. Gary from Buds addressed it and made sure it went out on the 23rd, and I rec'd it at FFL 2 days later. The pistol needed cleaning, but otherwise was in VERY nice shape. Polished finish, with hardly any nicks or deep scratches. You can tell it was probably carried way more than shot. The trigger was very nice, and it fired well. Awesome pistol for the price. It was well packaged with a double foam layering. After cleaning it, I took it out to range yesterday. Performed flawlessly, no jams, and was very accurate. I had such a childish grin on my face as I shot it... so much fun, and felt very nice. It is a heavy pistol, as it's all stainless steel, but being so, had lighter and more manageable recoil, and the groupings were very tight. I am extremely happy with my overall experience and purchase, and will DEFINITELY shop at Buds again, hopefully soon. THANKS BUD!!!
