This is the perfect little starter gun. I have taught all three of my boys at a young age handling, safety, aiming, weapon control, marksmanship, etc. It's fun to shoot, and since ammo is cheap, you can throw a lot of bullets down range. We've shot several hundred rounds thru it with minimal problems. After a few boxes, they tend to stick while unloading spent casings. But a quick swab with some No. 9 and it's good again. Too bad the Illinois law makers decided it's unsafe for sale here anymore.

We ordered this little 22 Legacy Puma Revolver Pistol just because the price was so cheap. It is a larger frame then other makers of 22 revolvers. This frame is like a old 45 colt revolver that was reduced to a 22 LR caliber. The finish on it was excellent. It came in a cardboard box with a lock and a barrel brush. It shoots excellent. The frame is a bit heavier then other little 22 revolvers so when firing it, it feels like a light crack. We found that certain 22 LR bullets work better then others. Some leave a lot of lead on the front of the barrel by the revolver. But other brands of 22 LR shoot clean through. My wife can shoot this gun very accurately but for some reason I can't shoot as good as her with it. It is a lot of fun to shoot this old style single actions revolver. I will highly recommend this to all and for any age that can hold it. Kids really enjoy shooting it. It is a great gun for the price and a 22 caliber. We also have a Heritage version of this revolver and it is a smaller frame.

Ok gun for the money. Not real accurate but fun for plinking. I wouldn't buy it again. Quality is below average.

I purchased this revolver for use to deal with venomous snakes around the house and while on the river. I couldn't have asked for a better gun for the money. On my first trip to the range with it I was very pleased with it's accuracy and loaded up with .22 shotshells it does it's intended job. It's price was also low enough that if it should end up at the bottom of the river I wouldn't be too upset. Thanks for the great deal Bud's.

Loved it since it came out of the box. I ts a good shooter and will shoot anything i put in it, even rounds that were missed from my semi auto 22 lr. Kinda heavy tho. but the wife likes it. A+

Nice revolver fro the price. A little rough in terms of finish. Should make a good plinker.

Poor finish, resulted in flaking and rust in hammer well and in and around cylinder spindle holes (I bought this revolver 3 months ago from buds. It's the only gun in the dozen I own that's rusted). Gun has good weight, feels solid, reasonably accurate, functions seemingly flawlessly. I would not recommend due to finish issues. I am disappointed in this purchase.

For the money this is a good deal. This is not a high quality pass it to my grandkids in 50 yrs kind of revolver... BUT, as a little plinker this baby is pretty sweet! Seems fairly solid and should hold up well to moderate use. Really made me fall in love with the SAA as this was my first. Cylinder locks up decently- not exactly a S&W but it never claims to be. Machining is a bit rough, not crazy about the plastic grips, but, like I said, for the money this is a good shooting little plinker. Overall I'm very happy I purchased this revolver!

It's what I expected based on other reviews. The finish isn't great, but aligns with the price point of $149 (chip in the side, for example, right out of the box). Decent little plinker for what you pay, provided you understand what you're getting.

Front sight was canted 5 degrees. Grip is usable but by no means attractive. The finish is poor. I love it! It is exactly what I expected for a buck and a half. This little guy will be a load of fun out in the desert and woods, sand, grit and salt be damned.

Ordered on Sunday night and picked up it from my FFL Wednesday. Great service. Can't beat the price for this gun. It looks good and shoots good. No complaints.

Exactly as described. Haven't shot it yet but it is a well made revolver. Be advised there is no transfer bar on this revolver. When the hammer is down the firing pin is extended. The manufacturer recomends 5 rounds only and hammer on the empty chamber.

Picked this up today at my local FFl and got to fire 20 rounds through it. Functions great and finish is good and the accuracy is ok at 10 yards anything after that and you're pushing it. Only complaint is the silver metallic plating on the chambers are flaking off already but its just cosmetic so I am not worried. Overall, very satisfied with my first purchase from Bud's and at $150 I would definitely recommend this little pea shooter.

After using friends, and renting firearms from the local rage, I made my 1st purchase of a firearm. I chose the Puma 1873 22. It got nice reviews, I liked the vintage look of it, was inexpensive to shoot, and wasn't heavy on my resources either. I ordered from Buds on a Wednesday night, it arrived at my FFL on Friday. I didn't even check my order status till Saturday night. So I had to wait till Monday to pick it up, and the local FFL was 30 minutes late in opening. AHHH! This will not be my last purchase from Buds's. Thanks for exceeding my expectations.

First off buds service and shipping are top notch. Unlike the other review on here I am not quite as happy. I have less that 60 rounds fired from this and the finish is already wearing in spots. On the face of the chamber the chrome looking material they used is flaking off. I have not dry fired this as its stated in the manual that its a no no. Function is great. I added a little white paint to the front sight. There is a lot of rough machining on this. Over all I will give this 4 stars because of the finish, but you cant expect the finish to be flawless for 150 buck.

Nice looking pistols! Another great deal from Buds. Great product and fast shipment. Can't wait to get to the range and fire a few rounds.

Was not sure what $149 was going to get me but after reading the reviews thought I would take a chance. I can tell you I am extremely pleased with this firearm and with Bud's service. The weight and size is like the original Colt 1873 saa and the finish and wood grips are a pleasant surprise too. Took the revolver out today and although I only put 12 rounds through it the gun is pretty accurate, heard the ding of the target every time. This is going to be a fun gun to knock some cans around with. Thanks Bud's.
