Great shotgun, I would personally say this shotgun is perfect for a starter/ learner, because it is a 1 shell shotgun. Holds up well while shooting, I had one jam when I started to shoot it and that was it, it has been good ever since.

Having previously owned a mossbeg, I knew how reliable they are. I bought this one due to the high shell capacity to turn into a bullpup. I’m happy with the finish product.

Plain and simple , this is a nice gun for anyone looking for a high capacity shot gun for the price. I nick named it The Room Sweeper ! If you don't want to pay a grand or more this is definitely a option you should consider . The gun , well , it kicks like a mule , the action is smooth and the pump is quick 7 + 1 2 3/4 inch . This is a lot of fire power in a small but hand braking package. Bought mine for home defense , I keep 71/2 bird shot in mine. Greatest shotgun of all time in my opinion, no malfunctions 200 rounds and counting.

I bought this slick little shotty a few months back, surprisingly controllable this just the pistol grip as long as u keep a firm grip on the pump with forward pressure. The action is slick as butter and you can cycle it fast with practice. Threw on a standard hunting stock for a lol more versatility. Great buy

Have used Mossberg shotguns throughout my life so I didn’t hesitate to just buy a 500. Was disappointing when I brought home and it was jamming. The forward grip upon pulling back would partially actuate the extractor but get stuck half way which was odd as it appeared well oiled. Called Buds and during the call it all the sudden opened and closed like it should. I took it apart and oiled it in the right places and reassembled it. Hasn’t stuck since but have yet to range test it. It appears that it only sat in a warehouse too long and the oils moved or dicipated to an extent. To any readers thinking about buying a Mossberg, my experience here is a rare one and with any firearm it’s our responsibility to learn every piece of them and how to fix and operate them. This was an opportunity for me to refresh myself on proper assembling and disassembling of this fine shotgun. Got a Scorpion adjustable Buttstock , tri-rail forward slide and foldable ATI grip with a 4” top rail to fit a Leopold reflex sight on it. Hell, even got a Generic Sure-fire tac-light Cree 500 already and the rest coming to make this a beast of a gun. Overall I’m happy and learned a little.

By far my Favorite 12ga I own. I added the ATI folding stock to this and it is just great.Only complaint I have is Mossberg should find a more user friendly place for the bolt release. Buds shipped this FAST and very pleased with them.

Awesome gun for home defense. Pros: perfect size Great look High capacity 7+1 Great selection of after market accesories and parts Cons: When used with magnum or 3" loads it kicks too hard making it very painful Out of the entire 500 line this has limitations when it comes to parts. Replace the pistol grip as Overall is a great gun for the money. When used with 2 3/4 shells is a lot of fun and as the rest of the 500 line, it is a strong, reliable gun for home defense.

Mossberg 500 is a nice gun and the pump action makes it a nice home protection weapon. Nobody wants to hear that sound when they open a door. I would buy the next one with a regular stock and not just a pistol grip, as the pistol grip makes it hard to control. This can be changed with an additional purchase and gun butt replacement. Nice gun. Exactly as depicted and advertised. I bought an after market Magpul stock set to make this a home defense weapon, cheaper than getting the Magpul Mossberg. Eight shot capacity, kicks like a mule with buckshot, but recoil was greatly reduced by a Limbsaver butt pad. Enjoy.

great to work with! I love the gun and the shipping time wasnt bad at all. when i went to pick the gun up at the FFL they told me i needed my blue card. i lost it years ago so i had to take the test again and had to wait for my gun 7 days... lol my fault for losing my blue card. The MOSSBERG 500 PERSUADER 20" 12GA is the ultimate home defense weapon. It shoots 2 2/3 or 3" shells. This is a very rugged, well built gun and is very reliable. I thought the pistol grip would be cool, but it does make it a little difficult to control so I installed an ATI 6 position adjustable stock which makes it much easier to shoot. This is my primary home defense weapon and you can't go wrong with this.
