I just purchased this scope base for my S&W 500 Magnum from Buds and it fits perfectly. I mounted a Red Dot Site on it. What is really great is that you can remount the stock S&W rear sight on the base. The base comes with an attached front blade, so you can pop off the red dot sight/scope and have standard sights immediately available. The silver base is stainless steel and matches the gun very well. I looked at 3 vendors before buying this scope base from Buds. The S&W Online Store wanted $99, and Impact Guns wanted $102. Buds sold it to me for $67!!. Go Buds!
