this is a decent hunting rifle to get you started, pretty accurate as it comes but if you want to upgrade, I would start with the scope.

No problems. Shoots accurate. No issues with magazine feed into chamber. Always used Hornady American Whitetail 130 grain. Bagged a couple deer already, just purchased a year ago.

I bought this rifle because I am planning a hog hunt and wanted a decent rifle. Buds delivered it fast when I got it home and went to the range I wasn’t sure what to expect out of a rifle with such a cheap price. Man was I impressed I checked the bore sight and made a couple minor adjustments and shot a couple groups. Both groups were under 1 inch at 100 yards so I moved back to 200 without much change. As far as the rifle there is a little play in the bot but it’s smooth and locks in tight, the trigger in nice and the scope is decent the gun feels good. I would recommend this rifle for anyone looking for a economical hunting rifle. Thanks Buds and Remington.

You can tell this gun is what its worth, everything is functional and works properly. Going to the range the Scope was not sighted in correctly but an easily correction to be made on the scope itself while shooting.
The rifle shoots well and have not had any issues so far!

Nice Rifle! Remington 770 .270 This is not just a good starter rifle, it's a go to for hunting. It doesn't have all the frills that really expensive rifles have, but that's not what's needed for hunting. Right out of the box, after proper barrel break-in and minor windage and elevation adjustments, this rifle is a tack driver. The claim is that they're factory boresighted and it appeared it was done correctly. With no modifications at all and with the scope that came on the rifle it shot outstanding groups, with factory ammo. Bench-rested at 100 yards all shots in 2 separate 5 shot groups were all touching each other. Well, well under the accepted the 1 inch grouping. This is a super rifle for anyone who doesn't want to break the bank, but wants a solid hunting rifle. Save the money on the rifle, use good quality ammunition, and it's a great combination.

I have heard bad opinions.With mine I would not give it up.I have shot against others and hit more accurate.It only needed oil on bolt.Most people complained of that.A little oil was all it took.Bud's is the best.

A very nice rifle for the price. Do not put faith in the "boresighting from the factory" bull. I got my rifle with the scope on backwards. But after corrections were made, it's banging like a champ.

No compliants here. I used this rifle for hunting and dropped a 7 pointer at 120 yards using Barnes VX. The rifle has to be well lubed and all screws re-torqued for flawless action. The bolt has a little wobble, but was an easy fix. Very light trigger action about 4 pounds. The scope was hitting 3 MOA out the box at 100 yards which is not bad for a shadow Bushnell scope. Super easy to take down and reassemble. The supplied recoil pad is more superior than I would have guessed which saved me some bucks on a Limbsaver. I would recoomend this for the budget hunter any day. I only give 4 stars becuase I haven't found a 5 star rifle yet.

I bought this gun from buds a few weeks ago after all the smack talk I read on the internet. I think this rifle is awesome. The bolt is a little sticky but I took it out to the range today and ran about 20 rounds through it. The scope is a cheap one but it was pretty accurate. I would recommend this rifle to the budget minded hunter and anyone wants to be able to shoot and hunt but not spend an arm and a leg to do it. Thanks Buds!

Buds service was great, purchased this rifle o re layaway plan. There are a lot of negative reviews about this rifle. For what it is the rifle is more than sufficient. The bolt is a little stiff out of the box. But for the price, to start out with a decent rifle to hunt with it is a very good package. The rifle is not the prettiest rifle you will ever see, but it will get the job done.

It was a little timely reaching me about a week but I did choose free shipping, no complaints. Buds gun shop was professional and everything went flawlessly. About the gun, beautifully crafted arrived with no visual defects, I havent had a chance to fire it yet but so far so good, has a real good weight and great sight alignment, the scope is not a bushell, suppose its a simmons since all I found was a S on it, guns very cheap but very well built. I plan on writing another review Saturday once I fire it and sight it in. So far very pleased thanks buds

My first hunting rifle, and what a great choice. The .270 round is powerful enough to take down a deer yet cheap enough to take to the range and really get the hang of. Out of the box it was accurate, but after getting it bore sighted, it was dead on. Great service from Bud's as always. You really can't go wrong with this rifle.

Bought this rifle last week and took it out to sight in the scope this weekend. As I'm out in the woods shooting at my target on a high bluff, a bunch of wild hogs came down to the creek for a drink. I turned and aimed at a large boar 112 yards off and dropped him with one shot. He weighed 310 Ibs. and had 5" inch tusks. You will not find a better rifle in this price range and Remington's quality craftsmanship is as good as it gets. Bud's service is great! I highly recommend anyone looking for a good deer rifle to try the model 770.

I love my gun. It came in very quick and without any real complications with Buds Gun shop. Only problem I have with this gun is the bolt. The firing pin housing is plastic and within 12 shots (two shooting sessions) the plastic underneath the bolt broke. Normal care is/was used to maintain the integrity of this firearm. Also, the bolt wiggles too much once bolt is open. way too much play. overall; good gun, great price and purchase, only wish these few problems wasnt a factor.

Good rifle and inexpensive. The bolt action is a little loose and flimsy, but other than that it is a straight shooter and worth the money. The scope that comes with it is decent and is equipped with see-through front and rear covers for foul weather conditions. I've put plenty of animals down with this gun.

This is my first rifle that is larger than a .22 long. I absolutely love it. It was easy to set the scope in, easy to clean and deadly accurate. Kicks a little bit but you get used to it. Savage might have the better gun, but for the price, Remington is the way to go. No complaints at all for the Remington 770 line.
