Incredible size for a 45 ACP although a little hard to shoot. The short frame helps take out some of the snap versus the standard G30.

Great, smaller, compact 45. Snappy with p loads. Get the higher capacity mags and the Xgrips to get a better hand grip with this gun. The trigger isn't that great, not your typical Glock trigger.

It’s an ugly duckling Glock and a damn good design Shoots everything I have for ammo and was accurate as heck Have several other handgun brands but no collection is complete without a G30SF

I bought this with the intent of carrying it as my EDC. It has served in that purpose now since I bought it for many years. I would recommend changing/upgrading the factory sights as I did, as the factory sights are not the greatest. I picked up a set of better low-light sights fairly inexpensively. In the time I've owned this pistol it has fed and fired everything I've put through it. One of the best parts of this pistol is that it does accept the larger, G21 magazines giving you the capability of having a 13 round magazine as a back-up. It does stick out beyond the butt of the pistol, but it feeds and functions fine. While I may not always carry this pistol due to clothing or what-have-you, when I do, I tend to carry it loaded with a standard 10 round loaded in it to keep the silhouette down, and then carry a 13 rounder as a spare.

Bought the GLOCK 30sf and the 30s. If you don't own these two guns then you need to. 45 ACP BIG BOY Caliber, soft shooters low recoil

It is a Glock. It isn’t pretty, it doesn’t have a 1911 trigger, but it goes bang when you pull the trigger. For the model 30sf specifically, 10 rounds of 45acp in a compact size is very attractive. If you live in a free state, it also accepts the model the 20 13 round magazines. Another plus is that it externally is the same dimensions as the Glock 29 10mm and will work with the same holsters.

I have never been a Glock fan, but a buddy talked me into trying one. Nothing special but it was a monument to function. Cost of the Glock 30SF was a bit high but fair enough for demand. I changed the sights to night sights. Changed the stock polymer trigger to a flat aluminum trigger with a stock trigger bar. Then polished the internals. All of it easy and fast to do. Some cool guy mag plates to dress it up and a thor' s hammer back plate for fun. It was interesting and fun to upgrade, but I feel the price is too high. But no issues other than the idiot marks on the first ever sight install I ever did. I do plan on picking up a 19 and doing it again. Aside from the sights I'd say keep it stock. The reason for the trigger job other than astetics was it messed up injured trigger finger. Glock truly is the diy gumsmith learner gun. Simplicity, function, and durable.

There is like no reason to buy this gun. This was my first carry gun. It is reliable ,accurate, and decently priced but in the end i stopped carrying it because it was very difficult to conceal in light clothing(t-shirt and cargo shorts). If you are dead set on concealed carrying a .45acp a Glock 36 would probably be a better option. If you want a .45acp for home defense a Glock 21 would be a much better choice than the Glock 30. So because the Glock 30 doesn't really fit into any role perfectly it's only going to get 3 stars from me.

I had a lot of problems with my 30sf at first. It arrived in good shape, but when I took it to the range I experience problems with the slide returning completely into battery. I called Glock and they sent a new recoil spring that did not help. I live in Georgia, so I took the weapon to the Glock assembly plant outside of Atlanta who will check out your Glock for free on a walk-in basis. They said they could find nothing wrong, but I continued to have problems. Finally after about 350 to 400 rounds the gun settled down and I have had no problems since. This all is in spite of the fact that Glock claims there is no break-in period. Subsequently I put in a Ghost 3 1/2 pound trigger connector and the gun is performing beautifully. I really love the pistol; it fits my medium-to-small hand well, shoots straight, is reliable (now) and is a good handling 45. Plus I just bought a 13 round magazine and an X-grip that gives me 14 rounds of 45 in a very neat package. It is hard to give the gun a single rating. Right now I like it enough for a five rating. But, it did cause me considerable trouble so I settled on a four.
