Nice gun but gave it 3-stars because I found out it does not like lead rounds and the rear lock to hold the barrel gets lose over time. No problems with copper coated rounds. Never any problems with Buds. They always have had the best price, availability and shipping.

The gun shipped 8 days after purchasing it. Well withing their 7-10 business day estimate. It was in perfect shape. I think the S&W 22A is a very under rated gun. It has a nice light trigger, it is a little mushy. Not bad at all but there is some there, this is no $1200 Model 41 after all. The breakdown is very simple. Operation is also very simple. The mag release is located on the front of the grip and weird to use at first. Within a few mags it is just as normal to use as the traditional side release. The rear sight is nice and fully adjustable. The front sight is just ok. It is not replaceable on this particular model and that is my only regret of this gun. I wish I could swap it out for a fiber optic sight, but it isn't possible. I also have a Ruger MKIII and a Browning Buckmark. This gun is just as good as either of those in my opinion and a lot cheaper. Occasionally you see the basic 22A on sale for $199 and that is a steal. If the aftermarket parts become available like the Ruger I think it would be just as popular.

First of all I want to give Bud's a tip of the hat for their fine fine customer service. They did a layaway for me and it went as smooth as silk. They even gave me the difference in price as a refund for the change from the time it went on layaway and the time i picked it up. Got $49.00 rebate I wasn't even expecting. That tells me a lot about the character of the guys at Bud's and how they choose to do business. THANKS BUD YOU NOW HAVE ANOTHER LIFELONG CUSTOMER. That being said the gun shipped in 2 days and I even got a call from my FFL telling me it was there. Surprised me how fast it really did get there. The gun is a God send. For a 22 auto it is as smooth as frog hair. The Factory Realtree camo finish is so stunning the gunsmith wanted to know how I gotg it like that. Gun eats any 22 I shoved through it and it tack driving accurate at 25-30 meters with a UTG red dot quick kill scope. Looks good, performs well and gets lots of looks at the range. I give it a 5 out of 5 overall. tight, accurate dependable (more than I can say about my ex wife...lol) Go and buy one now. Get your 22ammo at bulkammo.com. They have tons in stock and do fast shipping to your door.

Very pleased with my S&W M22A 22LR 5.5 Stainless/RTAPG. Very accurate and solid built handgun. Very much like the real tree camo and goes well with my red dot also in real tree camo. Overyall very pleased with use of this handgun.

Purchased this hand gun for squirrel hunting. I shot a couple hundred rounds through it to break in the barrel. Then I mounted a hand gun scope on it and sighted it in. It is deadly accurate out to 40 yards. Great hand gun S & W is putting together here. Look out squirrels!!!

I really like this gun. Very accurate after a few sight adjustments. I have fired at least 1000 rounds through the gun with only a couple FTE but as always that could be the ammo. It is a heavy gun but that works well for me. I have gorilla size hands and this gun fits my grip very well. Also the RealTree cammo looks great and so far hasn't scratched or flaked off. Also you cannot beat Bud's price and the girl at the store was very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a fun, inexpensive time shooting at the range. Then this is a perfect gun for that.

I own numerous .22 lr handguns. This one by far is the easiest to clean. I clean my guns after each use. It's a fun piece to shoot and works with my favorite open tactical sight. I use CCI or Federal copper plated rounds and have never had any issues. I shot about 4000 plus rounds and it's dead on accurate. People complain about the bolt stop, but i haven't replaced mine yet and they give you five extra's in a packet. Like any gun if you keep them clean you won't have an issue. If you run thousands of rounds through any gun they clog up if not kept clean. I'm looking at buying another and they're cheap.

I ordered this pistol from Bud's several weeks ago and as always, it arrived promptly. I have read several reviews on the internet that ranged from terrible to excellent. I have now shot this fine pistol quite a few times and I love it! I have owned several Rugers, a couple Buckmarks, one Sig trailside and even the much acclaimed S&W model 41. There are some features on the fore mentioned guns that may be better than those on the Smith M22, but overall, I much perfer this firearm. The M22 is extremely accurate, easy to add optics and a joy to shoot. Its true that with some ammo misfires are a problem and to operate 100% the gun must be kept clean. That should not be much of a problem, find the ammo it likes and take care of the pistol and this gun will compete with any out there. The trigger on my Model 41 was much superior, BUT I like the M22 better.
