Nice and small a large caliber firearm very discrete

This is one mean beast. Excellent quality. Fast shipping to my FFL. Shoots good looks even better. Was gonna use it as a pocket pistol but decided it's best to carry in a cross draw holster. Can't beat Bud's. Excellent as always.

Great revolver but ultimately I sold this and got a S&W Governor because A: gives you 6 shots instead of only 5 B: tritium front sight C: Better grip D: Scandium frame and finally E: about the same price but it's a S&W instead of a Taurus.

The perfect shotgun in handgun form

I bought this piece originally for my wife to protect herself from any sort of carjacking event but when I fired it myself the first time I instantly knew that this was not the correct product for her. She’s a Cancer Survivor and quite fragile. The recoil on this is absolutely BRUTAL. Especially with the .410 Buckshot loads. I sold it quickly. It’s not a bad gun, but it’s viable applications are narrow and you’ve got to be comfortable with some stout recoil.

I really like my Taurus public defender in stainless steel It shoots 410 and 45 Colt quite well It's not too bulky and not too heavy in my opinion for a carry gun I have around 500 or so rounds to it of mixed ammunition very happy Thank you buds for reasonable price and fast shipping

The Taurus Judge is a great home protection fire arm. The Smaller Public Defender is outstanding for personal protection. It has great stopping power with either the 45 Colt or the 410 PD round. Get it when you can.

This revolver is one of several Taurus .45LC/.410 handguns I have purchased. When this item arrived, the action was very rough and the trigger pull heavy. I gave it a thorough cleaning and lubed all the moving parts with CLP and Rem Oil ( even noticed some metal frags, probably from prior machine work). After considerable dry firing, everything is now very smooth. I consider this little piece an excellent "anti-carjacking" weapon, using a combination of both buckshot and 250gr. lead rounds.

Owned the original judge for many years and was happy with it. Picked up a public defender for its more compact size, it’s slightly smaller and easier to carry. There is one significant drawback to the PD. Due to its smaller frame the grip size is almost too small. The stock grips are not very appealing, are minimal in size, and for a gun that packs a significant punch, especially firing a .410 round I don’t feel there is enough grip to handle the weapon comfortably. When holding my PD, two of my five fingers cannot cannot engage the stock grip which feels unnatural and uncomfortable. To my surprise there are very very few aftermarket grips options for the PD. I’ve always put Hogue grips on my handguns but they don’t make a grip for the PD. I searched extensively and ultimately went with the pachmayr grip, it is slightly larger than the stock PD grip and does feel much more comfortable in my hand. I really love the PD, just understand the aftermarket grip options are very very limited.

It's great to find the original stainless public defenders. They stopped making these after just a few years aftet release. They still produce the larger frame judges and poly frame public defenders, but the stainless is the best of the best of the public defender line. It's a great shooting revolver with a crisp action and great reliability. I have bought two of them now and absolutely love them for a truck gun, snake gun, or having fun at the range. It also works great as a home defense weapon. There are a good verity of holsters, larger grips, and speed loaders on the market to go with this great collectors item.
