What a quality build this Ruger is. This revolver is both solid, heavy, and fun to shoot. If you shoot .44 special, you barely feel the recoil. Shoot some Buffalo Bore heavies, that is another story! I do love the single action Ruger's and believe them to be a great long term investment. I will be glad to hand this beauty down to one of my son's one day.

I dearly love single actions, especially Rugers. This one had some cosmetic issues. The transaction with Bud’s went just fine as have all of my transactions. I think Ruger made this one on a Friday, as they say.

I love this Ruger Super Blackhawk! It's built like a tank and shoots right to point of aim. I also like that this 5.5 inch barrel version has the rounded trigger guard, rather than the squared trigger guard of the versions with longer barrels - that squared trigger guard can be rough on your middle finger when shooting hot Magnum loads. After shooting the Magnums, the .44 Specials seem like .22LRs. Solid and dependable, and will handle the hottest of .44 Magnum loads. I love the satin stainless steel finish. it's a joy to shoot and I have nothing but good things to say about this revolver!

Ruger is ok for the money. Gun had bad fits, bad edges, still a nice big gun for what it cost. From now on I'll pay up for the Colts.

Have always wanted a super blackhawk since shooting a friends years ago. This one didn't disappoint. Very nice looking revolver and shoots great.

Great gun, great service.

A truly beautiful revolver; appearance and performance. Only one minor criticism; use some caution on how you grip the firearm when shooting health rounds. That grip will bit the palm of your hand if not careful. Any decent pair of shooting gloves will solve the problem.

This is my second gun purchase from buds,,, great service and fast shipping,,, as my bad luck would have it I think I’ve got a lemon. The cylinder will not eject the spent casings I’ve shot Remington 180gr and no luck also I bought a box of fiocchi 240gr and still same issue,,, it’s like the brass over expands , I’ve looked on some other forums but have yet to see any of the same issues with this particular model, I really love this gun and I’m hoping I can get the problem solved

Back ground. I have been loading and shooting 44s for over 45 years. I recently purchased from Bud's a Lever Rifle in 44 Mag, also in stainless. After working up some rounds, heaver than I normally load for my other 44s, I determined it time to get a revolver that can take the added pressures. And what better than the Ruger Blackhawk. When I received this one, it had a trigger let off that varied from 6 1/2 or so pounds to over 8 pounds and was gritty. First off, I worked some bore cleaning compound into the rear of the hammer where the spring pressure pushes the hammer and a couple of other location in the works. I cycled the action a good 100 times. Then I pulled the grips and flushed the innards with break cleaner. When I was satisfied all of the polishing compound was out, I greased, yes grease not oil, the locations that looked like they connected. I also cleaned out the center of the cylinder and greased it with a light coating. Everything back together I started cycling the action, over and over. My best guess is over a thousands times. The timing is off just a little. If this were a blued gun it could be a visual problem, being stainless, it is not. Lock up is tight and the trigger pull is now just at 3 1/2 pounds with no creep or grittiness. I will not only be running heavy loads but I will have that option and this hunk of sweat steel will out last me. I now wonder why I didn't get one long ago.

Super accurate and fun to shoot. I’ve owned several 44 mags and this one is the most accurate of all. Shooting heavy loads even with the stock wood grips is comfortable. Great pistol!

My expectations were high and they were met. Its a beautiful gun for sure and looks like a revolver should. I'm pleased with the 5.5 size for balance and looks. In my first range session it proved to be very accurate out to 75 ft. (max available). The sights are simple but easy to see. My only concern is that I had to adjust the elevation all the way down and still had to "hold" at the bottom of the bull (not the center). I wouldn't call it a problem but I guess I'm just s little nervous knowing there is no more room for down elevation adjustment. I fired some 200 grain mag and 200 grain special cowboy loads through it with minimal recoil and no issues. I put a few Buffalo Bore 340 +p+ rounds down range and the gun performed great, still very accurate. The recoil and muzzle flit was a bit on the violent side I'm glad to have the option to shoot the hot stuff that a S&W won't handle. I am very satisfied with my purchase and purchase experience.

Took delivery of my Ruger Super Blackhawk two days ago. Fit and finish could not be better. I was impressed especially with the rosewood grips; The grain of the wood, as the fit on the handgun itself, and the attention to detail made it as good looking as it is functional. The machining and polishing on the metal is superb. I'm looking forward to shooting at this next week. This is the second handgun and fourth firearm I have purchased from Buds. The entire transaction could not have been smoother. Kudos to everyone involved!

The Ruger .44 mag. model# 0811 is all you can except from a Ruger and more. Very well made and one of the best revolvers I have ever shot..Also Buds Guns are the best priced pistols I have ever found. Fast and stands behind all he sells and more. The only place I would ever buy any firearm.....

Beautiful handgun. I use it for protection from bears in Northern Michigan. I shot really heavy loads out of it and the cylinder rod kept getting ejected due to the pressure and recoil. That is why I gave it 4 stars. I had to send it back to Ruger to fix it. I haven't shot it since it came back but they claimed the replaced the cylinder rod. However when I do test it out and the problem occurs again I will send it to budsgunshop.com because I bought the extended lifetime warranty.

This purchase from Buds was once again, a good transaction. Fast shipping and easy. Now, to the gun. Built like a Tank. You pick your era for what you think a strong tank is. It will be just like that. What I like is the ability to shoot a wide range of loads out of it from the likes of a light .44 Special to a full-charge .44 Magnum (if I want to). The gun is very accurate. I was hitting clay birds put out at 100 yards with the open sights. For me, that is excellent. It is one fine gun. I'm happy with this purchase.

This is great gun. It is very druable and solid. It has a very managable kick (for a 44 Mag) and can be shot multiple times with out discomfort. I would reccomend Hogue or similar grips if you are going to make it a range gun I have those on my Smith 500 and the recoil is reduced greatly due to the grips.. But for hunting occasional shooting and home protection it is perfect straight out of the box. Buds is a great place to buy from.
