Very accurate gun. I replaced the stock with walnut and installed a scope. Shoots out to 100 yards with quality ammo.

Nice 22 for the price, feels comfortable and I like the large bolt handle. Would be nice if it had a 10 round magazine but the factory 10 round mags are not hard to get. Buds was fast with shipping and had no problems. I give this gun a 4.5/ 5

Buy one and some extra mags and buy a 9mm suppressor. This little rifle is quieter than my BB gun rifle. I read a lot of complaints about the plastic stock, but other than it being slippery on the shoulder, it’s perfectly fine. Bought a 9 dollar slip on buttpad and no more slip and added a much need length of pull for my body. Don’t be fooled by the price, The accuracy is beyond crazy. Tack driver!! Didn’t give a 5 star only because of the slippery stock at the shoulder.

The services from buds was outstanding, however the product was below satisfaction. The gun has since been since back to manufacture for accuracy issues.

I have purchased many products from Buds Gun Shop. Buds usually has what I want in stock. For this purchase they did not have the rifle in stock but was able to get it in very quickly. Good rifle at a good price. Savage is having awesome rebates at this time so be sure to check out the Savege rebate page before you make the purchase so that it is in the time frame of the rebate.

After mounting a scope and tuning it in, this little jewel proceded to impress me! Even my old eyes were able to shoot a 2" group at 100 yds. With a good rest there's no reason it shouldn't do even better. Squirrels won't stand a chance with this in the woods!

This a good shooting 22 for the money, but I don't like the high bolt throw and the bolt itself could be a lot smoother. If I where still looking I would get a 90 degree bolt in a different brand.

Sweet little shooter, I love my Savage rifles and this little plinkster did not disappoint. Cheap to shoot, and accurate. I cannot wait to shoot it suppressed. Do yourself a favor ....if your contemplating picking one up , just do it already. Buds is always great, quick shipment and great communication.

Great rifle for the money. I use with a suppressor and it’s a tack driver

This rifle is amazing. You should buy one! I built mine as a dedicated platform for my digital night vision scope. The stock is decidedly bad. It's cheap, lightweight, and is cut to fit something out of Mos Eisley. It is for this reason that I built it in a Stormtrooper-theme. I painted the stock white and added a zippered buttstock pouch which aids in the horrible cheek weld. I put a Caldwell bipod up front, added a cheap GI sling, and screwed on a can. The bolt needs some breaking-in, the trigger is amazing out of the box and breaks at 2.6lbs. Like I said...buy one!

This is the best .22 you can buy for the money in my opinion. I may have got a freak rifle but it is shooting consistent sub MOA at 100. You can drop this action/barrel into a nice heavy chassis and have a competitive rig for a very low cost.

Perfect rifle for my use in controlling garden pests, and the barrel length pairs well with a suppressor. So far CCI 45 gr subsonic HP has been the most accurate, about 3/4" at 50 yds, though CCI std velocity 40 gr LRN works almost as well.

Be careful installing the bolt! Make sure you clean and heavily oil the entire action first. After the initial oiling, if the action is still tight, repeat the process. Once the bolt slides evenly without any hitching or grabbing, shooting is much easier. After trying 4 different rounds, my particular Savage prefers the Remington subsonic 22LR 40 grain copper plated bullets. I have installed a Silencero Sparrow suppressor and it’s an absolute pleasure to shoot all day! When shooting higher velocity rounds, this Savage prefers CCI Velocitor HP 40 grain hollow point copper plated bullets. Experiment and see which bullet or bullets work best for your specific Savage. It’s tons of fun and doesn’t cost a lot of money!

Great little 22. Topped it off with a VX-3 and put bullets through the same hole at 50 yards using CCI mini mags.

Crazy accurate for any rifle but especially since it is so inexpensive. Added a suppressor and replaced the stock with a MDT field stock and it is a quiet squirrel killer.

Very accurate with cci standard velocity. Only ammo tried so far. Great trigger. Love barrel length for suppressor use.

This is probably my favorite gun to shoot. I added a suppressor to it and it’s deadly accurate. I would definitely buy it again.

For just about the cheapest version of the Savage Mark II this thing is a tack driver. I was getting sub half inch groups at 50 yards with SK Long Range Match ammo. I just put a boyds stock on it today and can't wait to try it out again

The Savage Mark II FV-SR rifle is a very good value for a bolt-action .22 LR rifle. It comes with an over-size bolt knob and a Picatinny rail for mounting a scope. The bolt itself has a dark finish. The barrel is approximately 0.820" diameter, 16.5" long, fluted, and threaded 1/2-28 at the muzzle. I do not have a suppressor, so I cannot review its usefulness as a suppressor host. I did instead add an extended thread protector just for looks. It has the Savage Accutrigger with an out-of-the-box trigger pull of approximately 2.5 lb. By modifying three springs - trigger, sear, and inner blade - the trigger can be made much lighter and SAFELY due to the Accutrigger design. For better accuracy, many FV-SR owners modify (length of pull, cheek height, stiffness, etc.) or replace the synthetic stock, which I also did by making my own stock that fits my shooting needs. I mounted a Vortex 6-18X scope on mine, and with the right ammo (Eley Club, e. g.) get close to MOA accuracy at 100 yards. It is fairly accurate with almost any subsonic ammo. I also have a Mark II FV which has a 21" heavy barrel, and it is slightly more accurate than the FV-SR. I shoot the FV-SR mainly from the bench at targets I have set up at 25 to 150 yards. I shoot for pleasure only, and do not shoot in competition.
