Excellent rifle, accurate with the right ammo, less than 1 moa at 100 yds on a relatively windy day with variable winds 90 degrees from the left. At 220 yds it was probably still shooting 1.5 or 2 moa, I didn't measure precisely because I was shooting at small rocks on a hillside. I was impressed especially with the accuracy at 200 plus yards. The rifle is solid and the action is relatively smooth. I don't have any high quality .22s so I don't really have much to compare it to. I have a .17 HMR Marlin that has a stiff action but is incredibly accurate, less than 0.5 moa at a 100 yds, but, I think that in an inherently more accurate round. I will certainly do some more accuracy testing with this savage, this was the first time I had it out. I am using this rifle as a cheap PRS trainer and for that, I think it is excellent and I would recommend it. On mine, I removed the bulky scope rail and put a regular scope rail on. I am not sure what the bulky one is for? A light?

This was my first purchase from buds and service was great. This is a great rifle very well made. I've looked at other rifles in the same caliber and this one buy far was the gun that worked for me.

This Savage Mark II - TRR-SR is the only .22 rifle in my safe. It doesn't spend much time in there because it is so much fun to shoot! This rifle is a tack driver that at 50 yards will make one ragged hole. The action cycles easily and is smooth allowing rapid follow-on shots. Having the threaded barrel made adding a suppressor very easy! The only negative thing is the five-round magazine....only one provided! I had to order a 10-round magazine to help keep this great rifle fed! If you are in the market for a very accurate .22LR in a bolt action, then stop looking and treat yourself to a Mark II - TRR-SR! By the way, ordering this rifle through Buds was effortless!

What a great rifle at a great value. I am totally impressed with every Savage rifle I have bought in the last year; this one no exception. Well built with a great stock and a fantastic, crisp, clean accutrigger. Savage has got it right. Again.

I just received my mk2rrsr a week ago. It is a very well built rifle and has fed all of the ammunition I have fed it reliably so far. Incl. 22 cb short. At 100 yards it will shoot dime size groups with a good optic. I have a Nikon prostaff 3-9x40 22 rimfire, it is a great combo. The rail provided is quality but very cumbersome and I recommend a replacement that does not have the side rails. The side rails stab your hand when shooting from the standing position and have absolutely no use. I definitely recommend this rifle and do not let the rail issue discourage you. For 10-30 $ you can purchase a much better scope mount from weaver. #24 mount I think. Make sure your scope rings mate properly. Buy this rifle! Buds was great and their pricing can't be beat!

This gun is worth the extra cash. Previously, I had the MKIIFVSR which was okay but this one is much better. The 22" barrel gives you more accuracy and more importantly extra weight. The MKIIFVSR was just just too short and light which made it hard to bulleyes shoot. This one has a solid wood stock and the grip is much thicker than the plastic stock found on the MKIIFVSR. For those with big hands this is a very easy gun to shoot. My only complaint is the awful scope rail that is included. It's too big and gives you picatinny rails on the sides of the gun. I don't see why you would need that on this gun.

Pros: Superb rifle, easy to purchase. Cons: The rifle arrived missing a part (the unique Savage TRR-SR scope rail) and I am finding it quite hard to contact Buds to let them know about it. After shipping it all this way (I am in Hawaii), I didn't want to reject it and send it back. I just wish there was an easy way to let them know something was missing in the box. Oh well.

I've been shooting since the early 1970's. and the past ~ 10 years, i've been developing some bad habits. A pal recommended this Savage as a way to shoot 22lr, (cheap) and get lots of bolt action, trigger time. I LOVE IT. it's a solid, well built platform. The heavy barrel took almost 100 rds before i felt any heat in it. The rifle is stable, comfortable, and an absolute joy to shoot I put a BSA Tactical (inexpensive, $200) scope on it, bore sighted, and was on the paper first shot, sighted in by the 3rd shot. at 50' I was consistently shooting 1" groups of 5. (that's pretty decent for a fat old man with shaky hands) Every shot that was "wrong"? I knew instantly what I did wrong. I held my breath, I did not wait, my grip was wrong... etc. There was no mystery shots. Again, I love it. It will train away those bad habits, and at 7cents a bang? Much cheaper to practice than my .308. Next weekend? 100' range. It will be interesting to see how it fires after a few thousand rounds. but right now? love! The ONLY thing I'd change? I'd like an adjustable cheek-weld. It feels a little low. A great value for the money

Very smooth and crisp trigger pull. Very accurate. The only negative would be the mag fit which did lead to a few misfeeds. I would highly recommend this weapon and wish I had bought it sooner. Great trainer to practice your breathing control.

I own four 22 LR's. By far I am the most satisifed with this rifle. Out of the box it shoots penny size groups at 50 yards with a 10X scope. The bolt actions was a little rough in the beginning. After 50 rounds it smoothed out. It really likes the Wolf brand Match ammo. I used my 22 surpressor on it. The sound is that of a pellet gun with the combo.

I bought this gun a little under a month ago and have been very pleased with it. It's the first gun I've bought new and the first gun I've had that is a savage. Being a bolt action it likes just about all kinds of ammo. My favorites have been Federal bulk and CCI. With the smaller hollopoints it feeds with absolutely no problem. The wider hollow points that Winchester has in the bulk ammo is a little too wide and it would feed all the time. The gun is a lot more accurate than what I was expecting it to be. I was trying to decide between the .22lr and the .17hmr model and I went with the .22lr just for cheap fun ammo. I'm very happy I went with the .22lr and I have had no problem with accuracy. I can hit a 7x8 inch piece of metal EVERY TIME at 100 and 150 and usually at 200 yards. I'm waiting for a calmer day to try to hit 250 and 300 yards. The Bull barrel is realy nice, the threads on the end and the tread protector are nice, the big bolt handle is nice, I realy like the stock and the accutrigger. All around the best gun I've had and I plan to keep and shoot it for a long time to come.
