Good little gun for concealing in a pocket. It's not a bad thing, but because it weighs so little: Be prepared for felt recoil.

Ordered this to replace my summer carry CT380 the wife confiscated for herself after our last trip to the range. When searching for a replacement, I found I could could carry a 9mm in a package a tad smaller and roughly the same weight as my 380. It arrived quickly to my preferred FFL, from there I headed right to the range. I ran 4 mags through without a hiccup. That was about all my hands could take. After about two mags, the back strap stippling was clearly indented in my palm, ran another 2 mags through with gloves on. Since then I have roughly another 100 rounds through (mix of cheap F&S 115 9mm FMJ and Rem UMC 115 JHP) without any issue, other than beating up my palm. I have to run another 200 rounds to run through before I would depend on it as a carry gun, but I am really impressed so far for the price. Definitely not a range gun, but in that moment of need, I doubt you will notice the palm punishment. Added a Hogue 18500 grip sleeve, which helps quite a bit. The gun pictured appears to be a gen 2, but the one I received was a gen 3 I believe with the wider slide serrations.

Buds is awesome! DB9 arrived very quickly to my Local Gunshop. Thank you Buds! This is my 2nd DB9 and you will not find a better 9mm pocket pistol. One by my bed and one stays with me all the times! Very accurate and eats up every 9mm round I’ve put through it. For the price you can’t go wrong!

This is a great, reliable, accurate little carry pistol. I have loved Diamondback firearms since the release of their first gun (db380) back in 2009. The db9 is my everyday carry. Buds was great in their delivery, and their customer service is second to none.

The DB9 is a good buy for what it is. The grips on this second generation feels so good in my hand(I have big hands) im a big guy, i know there alot of bad reviews from guys who shoot 500 rounds or a million round's through the gun, but lets be honest im not goint into war with a DB9 on my hip lol, its not a glock, it's a surprise in my pocket i have shot about 40 rounds of hollow point i have had no jams what so ever, When you buy it you have to clean it up good before you put any bullets in it... I have my ccw & I love my DB9 for what it is Pocket Rocket...

I finally got the chance to shoot this gun, I received it two weeks ago. Yesterday while teaching a firearms class I was able to fire a few rounds down range. I purchased this gun as a pocket carry, and after yesterday, I can carry it with great confidence, I was using plinking ammo, the weapon fired flawlessly, without a hickup, three magazines, rapid shooting approximately 50 yards just to check it out, and still about a 10 inch group. Pretty good for such a small weapon. Great Product.

One of my favorites. Had some feed problems until I replaced the mag spring with one from a Kel-Tec PF9. Had to cut off an inch to make it fit but it's a lot stiffer now and the rounds haven't nose-dived since. But I have another without that mod, and the rounds never nose-dived. Not sure why one would and one wouldn't. It will take more time to compare the two. Occasional feed problems but mostly new shooters limp-wristing. Overall, I really like this model and would recommend it for all but target shooting. It's a good, accurate defense gun once you find the ammo it likes. (Mine like IMI die-cuts.) It's just so small the explosion is literally right in your palm. Not as comfortable as the Shield or even a Cobra Patriot, but fits in the pocket much easier. Just get used to it before you need it. Lots of practice and its easy to control. Probably will need a few trips to the range since you can't just sit and shoot this one all day without tiring quickly.

200 124g rounds plus 20 147g with no problems at all. I don't know if I got lucky but I love this little gun. It is a lot funner to shoot than the lcp. And it's in my pocket all the time.

I love this pistol. I have about 150 rounds through it. I only had 2 failures to feed, and those were is the fist 2 clips. Warning, this is not a target pistol! It will wear you hand out (dont let this be the first gun your wife ever shoots, cuz it might be the last). This gun was made for deep, yet powerful concealment, and it works well in that role as far as I am concerned. I carry it in scrubs in a family practice health clinic, and there is no way to tell I am armed. That is hard to do in scrubs. This gun is accurate, and appears to be well made. I would recommend this gun to anyone who needs to conceal with limited clothing options, as long as they are not recoil sensitive.

I bought my DB9 in Jan 2012 and used it a couple of times between then and July 2015, firing perhaps a couple hundred rounds through it. Then, around the end of July 2015, I used the gun for a third time and after about a dozen rounds it jammed and I was unable to clear it or field strip it. I had always heard good things about Diamondback Firearms regarding their warranty and so I returned the gun to them for repair. It is now over 6 weeks since I sent the gun to Diamondback. I still don't have the replacement and I am unable to get a rational explanation from them as to the delay. So. after firing only about 200 rounds my DB9 failed to the point that it was unrepairable. It has been over 6 weeks since the defective gun was returned to Diamondback and I am still without a replacement, and Diamondback can't even tell me when I can expect a replacement. Based on the above history, I can't recommend this product or the customer service of the company.

I really wanted to like this pistol. it is compact, light weight and was reasonably priced. Unfortunately, I have never been able to shoot a full magazine without having failures to eject or load. I have tried many different brands of ammunition and cleaned, lubricated and polished the weapon. I purcharsed 3 different new magazines from DB. None of which hepled. Finally, the pistol trigger failed to reset. I cannot fire the gun nor can I field strip it. I am waiting for word from DB as to whether they can repair it. I had to pay for shipping to DB. I will never use this pistol for concealed carry as it is very unreliable. I purchased a Ruger LC9s Pro for a little less than the DB9. It weighs more, but is almost the same size. The Ruger is it is reliable. Something the DB9 has never been.

I have fired 200 rounds through the DB9 (175 Tula/25 Critical Defense) and have not had a single malfunction. This handgun conceals perfectly in a pocket holster and goes everywhere with me. Like any small handgun, you need to practice with it to become proficient. The trigger is not quite as nice as the DB380 that I sold to get the DB9, but still much more crisp that most hammer fired pocket 9mm guns. I'm aware that when this first came out, there were possibly some issues with it, but as far as I'm concerned, they have since been resolved. Buds shipping was a bit slow in January: 16 days from the time of purchase(Jan 8) to the day it arrived at the gun shop(Jan 22). I don't think that is typical of them.

I really love this pistol for the obvious traits of it's small size and light weight. It shoots quite well for such a powerful cartridge in such a light weight gun. This was my second DB9 purchase since my first had the black finished slide and the black coating didn't hold up well. The approx. $40 extra for the EXO coating was well worth the extra money. This model and all other variants in the Diamondback DB9 series suffer from poorly designed magazines. The magazine followers will occasionally pop out through the feed lips of the magazine. The magazine springs are small and quite weak. Your DB9 may shoot great at the range one week so you load up a magazine and carry the gun for a month or two then go back to the range and experience feeding problems with the same ammo that shot fine two months ago. This happened to me recently and also happened a few months ago with my first magazine that came with the gun. I'm not willing to buy new magazines for this pistol every month. Diamondback need to address this issue as the magazine is the heart of this pistol. The only ammunition I've found that is reliable with new and broken in magazines is Rem/UMC 115 grain HP, so I'm stuck using this one specific round with my DB9.

This is a preliminary review in that I have not yet shot the pistol. Buds had a great price and the shipping was fast. Pistol comes in a nice box and appears well-made. I took it apart and cleaned it and was impressed with the fit and finish. Sights are usable (not always the case with small pocket pistols) and the trigger pull is crisp and smooth. If it shoots as good as it looks, I will be a happy camper. Tom S.

I bought a diamondback db9 a few months ago. at first the gun was pretty good except it would fail to eject last round. This was for the first 300 or so rounds. today I bought it to the range and the gun was FTF a lot. Gun was very clean and no I was not limp wristing or gripping low. I field stripped it and re oiled after first 5 jams but problem still existed gun came with feed ramp polished already so this wont help. Was using the same ammo I always used with this gun before Blazer Brass 115gr FMJ I called diamondback and they said send us the gun and we will look at it. I asked for them to pay shipping and they said we do not pay shipping on FTF guns. I have never had any other manufacturer tell me this. I have sent 3 guns back to different companys in my 30 years of shooting and never had to pay. This gun is only a couple months old and they want me to pay 50 bucks to send it back to them. Buyer beware diamondback Reading forums online it seems this gun is a jammomatic and they must know this by now. Never will get any business from me and I will be posting about this crappy gun on every website I am a member on.

I purchased this gun in October of 2011 and Bud’s did a great job as always as far as shipping and price of the firearm, I had the gun in my hand one week after I purchased it on line. I bought the EXO coated gun because I really like the stainless steel slide look on all my pistols and I was not disappointed at all with the look of the EXO coated version. The finish really looks good not a scratch on it and even after carrying it around in my pocket for a couple of weeks the finish seems to be holding up great against scratches. As far as the performance I was also very pleased after about 20 rounds at the range getting used to the gun I was able to make coke cans dance at 82 feet which surprised me a great deal because I could never do that with my Ruger LCP. Keep in mind that this gun is not a plinker it’s quite a handful since it’s so small and has very little weight to it, but it packs a real punch which I like a great deal. Since this gun is pretty much the same size as my LCP and packs a bigger bang it will be replacing the ruger in my pocket when I do late night computer repairs at client sites. I would recommend this gun to anyone looking for a full size caliber in a pocket sized package!
