I ordered this Sig from Buds in the summer of 2014, so it's been with me for a year and a half now. No hassle and easy transaction with Buds!! The gun itself is a beauty. I'm really glad I got the traditional slide option instead of the Sig style slide. It just wouldn't be the same. Buying the traditional slide also makes it way easier to find good holsters, and you will want a holster for it so you can take it everywhere (legally and all). It was a little finicky with magazines at fist as others have mentioned but it was just a matter of breaking the gun AND magazines into proper working order and keeping it cleaned and maintained. The gun comes with a little sample tube of Mil Comm TW25b GREASE and It works like a charm. Buy more and use it on your other guns cause sometimes oil just doesn't do the trick. The finish on the gun is very nice like a satin, and wears extremely well. This is not a safe queen to me. It's a real gun and I use it as such. It handles the holster with no visible wear. The machining on all surfaces is immaculate, and you can tell they actually cared how these guns came out. The wood grips are a nice dark red/brown stain that looks great against the satin stainless finish of the rest of the gun. Night sights are a major bonus. It makes the gun one that I could depend on at any time and I like that. I shouldn't have to say that it's accurate, but I will. It's accurate. It's possible that in the future I will have the trigger worked on to be a little crisper still, but it doesn't need to be any lighter, and it does break quite nicely as it comes from the factory. Great weapon. No regrets.

I purchased this particular 1911 in late October of 2011 and its nothing but bliss and I considered it my treat with no tricks. To top it off was a hassle free, price guarantee and step by step update from Buds on your purchase from start to finish. The pistol was all hoot to shoot from start and the only time it actually had a malfunction is when i put on an aftermarket, modified installed, bushing compensator made by a respected firearms maker such as Wilson Combat. It was all for looks and had nothing to do with performance and it was all my bad for even going such a route even modifying the installed aftermarket product aforementioned just to fit a Commander sized 1911 when it was designed for a full sized, John Browning legacy. I've have had my share of Llama's, Para Ordinance and Springfield 1911's and as much respect for the latter two's, Sig just outperformed all of them in a few range sessions and personal tests. I blame the Llama for a cracked slide, multiple FTE;s on the Para and skewed sights and grip safety failure for the Springfield that has to be sent to Springfield for warranty repair, which was great by the way but later on got traded in. Fit and finish is just awesome not having any tool marks compared to the aforementioned respected gun manufacturers and while not exaggerating that a factory de-horning was done, it sure was pretty close to what one would expect from Sig. Smooth and snag free all over, inside and out and malfunction free for the first 150 rounds and 28, self defense rounds of Speer Gold Dots on its maiden voyage. Most accurate pistol I own well of course because of its single action and design which will only fail if I don't do my part behind the sights and trigger. I've had me a few Sig's from a Sig 239 for 10 years, Sig 229 for a couple and a Sig 516 as my second AR, also owned for a couple, which was all sold, not for unsatisfactory product performance but for a "safe" downsizing action due to an unforeseen, "ex" better or worst other half, circumstances. lol! More of a striker fired pistol guy too compared to the hammered ones but this Sig 1911 would be on one of my heirlooms. Only honest gripe I can think off is its weight. 3 pounds including a full stack of Speers and of course, a spare mag or two having a 7 plus one round of the mighty .45 ACP can draw its weight on you for a whole day. I currently carry a Glock 26 with one spare mag, A S&W compact with an extra mag and a S&W Shield with the extra 8 round mag, interchanging, depending on occasion and yes, they are all a much lighter option for the Sig and the mighty .45. Having it enhanced with a Crimson Trace LG 404, would make it not to be a very wise and a cost effective choice for a self defense weapon on a God forbid situation where it might be used and later on surrendered for whatever legalities and proceedings after such an event. Still though, to this day, makes me wonder, why I even purchased and conjure such a thing but maybe one can own something PURTY once is a while and for my small collection of 3 Glocks, 3 M&P's, a BCM AR, a Mesa Tactical Urbino enhanced Mossberg 930 SPX and a Sig 556Russian, I can honestly say that this Sig is my safe queen, most accurate, most beautiful, most expensive and the most least used on my stable. Its my pistol flagship and my Cream de la Creme and would not trade it for anything more or less. Thank you Buds and thank you Sig Sauer!

I have had this pistol for five months now, and fired around 500-600 rounds through it. It hasn't malfunctioned in any way, feeds hollowpoints just as easily as ball ammo. It is accurate, soft shooting and looks great. The picture here is somewhat inaccurate, grips are different and a few other small details differ from the photo. This is a compact pistol when compared to a 5" 1911, but when compared to contemporary compact pistols it is large and quite heavy. Regardless, it is a great all-purpose pistol. The price has gone up over $100 since my purchase, but I would still consider it a good buy at it's current price.

Very nice and beautiful firearm, as it has the tried and proven reliability of both the 1911 and Sig Sauer. Only problems I've had is that at first, it didn't like Wilson Combat magazines, a problem which worked itself out after just a few rounds to get the gun broken in. I have also found that it shoots a little high and to the right. The problem there is that Sig pins both sights in place on the gun, which doesn't allow for adjustment within the dovetails. The gun does group nice, and that grouping has started coming back to point of aim as it should, so it might be another issue that breaking the gun in more will rectify. Again, the size and finish bode well for the gun, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good carry 1911 without sacrificing the accuracy and other advantages of a medium to normal 1911 barrel.
