Great gun, easily conceals, and quality you would expect from sig. The only draw back is the laser, hopefully they plan on an upgrade. But other than that, I am satisfied. I carry either in my ankle holster, or in my waist band holster. I prefer to carry on ankle due to the fact when I carry on waist, the laser button tends to get accidently depressed.

For the most part typical of what you would expect from SIG: quality build/finish, heavy and reliable with a high bore axis. The 6 round magazine fits flush and allows for only a 2 finger grip, the 8 round magazine adds enough extension for a full 3 finger grip. The grips are rough but given the purpose of this gun it makes sense. Siglite sights are a big plus! The DAO trigger is not good, it's gritty, take up is wobbly and the pull is heavy and super long and then some, reset is all the way back. Since this is a carry gun, I'm not willing to make any attempts to change it. First time to the range I ran 150 rounds through it, not a single FTF even though I tried...I ran mixed magazines with hollow points and round nose and hand full of snap caps thrown in randomly for fun. The grips do a good job of keeping things in place and the recoil is manageable. Take down is miserable and requires Kung Fu grip strength, it's stupid and you will probably curse in the process All this adds up to a nice reliable gun that's decent but not great to shoot, I have confidence that it will perform as required and do carry it regularly. The gun on it's own is probably 3.5 stars. The laser is another story altogether, it's nice the way it integrates with the frame, but that's about it. It's cheaply made (I have seen it's equal on $10 off-shore airsoft guns at the flea market), the activation requires breaking grip and it's prone to turning itself on. Inserting the battery is a joke that by the second or third time will likely strip the threads on either the screw or housing or both. To charge anything more than $5 for this junk is robbery...zero stars. Considering the pistol and laser combo together and the price I paid ($500-ish) it comes out to a final 3 stars.

Recently bought this pistol, and all I can say is WOW. If you are looking for a nice concealed carry, this is a great gun. Just fired it at the range today. Fed hollow point, flat nosed and ball ammo, and this Sig ate them all without skipping a beat. Laser was easy to adjust, and really like the night sights. The 8 round extended magazine really adds to a bigger gun feel while maintaining it's small size. Very accurate.

SIG QUALITY. WHAT ELSE CAN YOU SAY? YES, THERE ARE SMALLER AND LIGHTER PISTOLS ON THE MARKET ( I OWN A FEW OF THOSE TOO ). WITH THE RE-STRIKE UPDATE AND THE LASER INCLUDED, THIS IS A VERY GOOD CONCEAL CARRY CHOICE. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH A SIG PRODUCT, YES, THE MESQUITO DID HICKUP A BIT, BUT I EVEN GOT THAT ONE WORKED OUT. SIG CONTINUES TO BE ONE OF THE BEST GUN MAKERS IN THE WORLD, NO QUESTION ABOUT IT.

Another great SIG! Love this pistol. P290RS now my pocket carry gun, very nice quality and accurate even with one hand. Buds was fast as usual, order placed on a Monday, product was marked with a "turtle" so was expecting a few week wait before shipping. That was not the case as the pistol was shipped the next day like a "hare". I received from my FFL and shot same week Thursday! I will be back for another Sig with Buds. Thanks

I like my pistol alot but the laser seems cheap. The big battery is held in by a tiny screw and felt like it wanted to strip to close the door. At first my laser would go off each time I shot and I had to tighten this little screw more. Also not sure I would think to push the side laser button in an emergency. If I had time to think about it I could enable it. I would prefer, since it's a manufacturer add, it would have an inegrated grip on with the side button enabling the grip on. I like the feel of this gun alot and it was very accurate shooting. My groups were just a touch high. I did a side by side comparison shooting with a Kahr CM9 and the Kahr trigger pull was smoother and lighter.

Love my Sig. Great gun, Bud's is the best. Can't beat the prices day in and day out.

I bought this pistol cause it was such a good deal from Bud's. I paid well under $500. The gun comes with 2 mags 6 and 8. A laser that fits like it is part of the pistol and works great. Night sights!!!! A holster too. Came in a cardboard box. There is not another pocket 9mm that comes close to this for the absolute build quality . This is my first Sig and I found out why they are generally more expensive. This oozes ___what is it I'm trying to say.... well it looks and feels and the attention detail says this is quality gun. The grips actually grip. Sig put the perfect grips for a 2 finger stock on the gun, no slick plastic at all. These grips feel just like sand paper (I love them). The gun is hard to take apart in the sense that you really need to block the slide after you bring it back with a piece of wood or something to be able to knock the slide stop/take down out. It can't really be pushed out with your finger. It needs a little tap. Just wedge the slide open with something and tap it out. On to the trigger. IMO the trigger blows. It is quite frankly terrible. It is a very safe trigger. There is no way to have an accidental discharge. The pull is very very long. It starts off with little resistance then gets very heavy and stays heavy and gets heavier before it breaks at the very end of the trigger guard. The reset is monstrous. I hate the trigger but love the gun. The gun deserves a better trigger. I had one light strike out of 150 rds of cheap reloaded ammo that fired on the 2nd pull. I had one failure to extract with 115 grain non plus P XTP hollow points in one clip. For under 500 the quality of this gun is awesome. But why did Sig put such a sucky trigger in it?

Received my weapon from Bud's in two days and it arrived in perfect condition. The P290RS came with 2 mags, a 6 round with small extension and an 8 round with full extension. Also included was a flat baseplate which could be fitted to either magazine. The laser came with a new battery and when installed the laser ran like a champ. The trigger on this weapon was excellent, long but smooth. The paddle holster included fit well and seems comfortable enough, although my personal preference would have been a good pocket holster instead. All these items were packaged together in a nice foam padded cardboard box instead of the usual hard case I've come to expect from Sig. Considering the excellent deal Bud's had on this package the packaging lack of a hard case was'nt an issue to me. I've been carrying on-duty and off for twenty years. I've carried everything from snub-nose revolvers to Glock 45's. Overall this weapon is one of the better conccealed weapons I've carried and it's a joy to shoot and carry. I highly recommend the P290rs for carry, and I recommend Bud's to anyone looking to purchase a firearm. I'm extememly happy with this product and transaction.

Great price and delivery from Bud's. This was my first online gun purchase. The pistol itself is a very good every day conceal carry, or backup service gun. The package includes everything one might need except a carrying case. Tritium sights are bright, laser is easy to install and adjust for windage and elevation. When using the smaller, 6 rd magazine most hands will find the pinky floating, but the interchangeable grips have great texture and the gun sticks good in your hand. When using the 8 rd magazine it fits like a glove. Field stripping is not that hard, but certainly not easy. Check Youtube for visual aid if the manual leaves you scratching your head like it did me. I put a ding of one star for this reason: my gun came with a couple of dings and scratches that were obviously caused by the extra mag and cable lock floating around in the cardboard box during shipping. These are superficial dings and scratches and don't affect functionality, but aesthetically they suck. If I had not needed to put this gun into service immediately I would have returned it. Make sure you take a close look before you finalize the transfer. If I could have only dinged it for a 1/2 a star I would have, but a custom plastic case like SA, or Glock provides with their guns costs very little. I think Sig Sauer should have thought this through better and included a simple plastic case.

Buds fast shipping is back. I ordered on Tuesday evening and picked up from the FFl on Thursday afternoon. This gun came with night sights, the new improved RS trigger (lighter than the old and with second strike capability), 1 6 round mag AND 1 8 round mag, the laser and a holster. The only disappoint was it came in a cardboard box instead of a hard case. This package is an awesome deal.
