I've had this AR for years and it is still a great and reliable firearm. There are a lot of options out there today, but I don't think you'd be disappointed with the s&w m&p.

The mid length really makes this AR accurate. It’s light, customizable, and if you are taller, it will fit you better. No jams I can recall after a solid 2000 rounds. Longer, chrome barrel will last and you can be more accurate with heavier .223 rounds because of the 1 in 8” twist at greater distances.

Fantastic AR, cycles anything I've put through it and is very accurate.

I haven't fired my weapon at this present moment, but it looks amazing. It reminds me of my military days when I put it in my hand. I remember the cleaning and the breaking it down to clean my weapon. I have always loved the M4 Carbine as an individual weapon. I loved the shortness of the barrel and the stock can be adjusted as I need. I can't wait until I fire it for the first time to get that feeling of firing it again.

About the gun: This Smith & Wesson M&P 15 Mid-Length MOE is awesome. It comes with most of the Magpul add-ons you'll probably want on your AR. The iron sight with the flip up rear sight was spot on accurate right out of the box. I was very pleasantly surprised at how accurate I was without a scope, and how easy it was to shoot. I've shot hundreds of rounds of 5.56 out of it with very little perceived recoil. This was my first AR platform firearm but I definitely recommend it. Quality parts, accurate and easy to shoot, great value.

I purchased this a few years back and have never regretted it. It is a nice looking and functioning rifle. I love it so much I am looking at buying a second one in Black and another in FDE. The rifle shoots anything I have put through it and I am glad it is part of my aresenal.

Incredible gun, after doing my extensive research and shooting many ar-15’s this is the one I decided on and I don’t regret my decision a bit. Gun shoots flawlessly. I am a customer of buds gun shop for life as well, I’ve bought my last few guns from them. Shipping is always quick and they are great to deal with.

A fine rifle. The Magpul lower is the highlight of this gun.

I have this rifle now for 2 years... over 2k rounds and no issues. I did put a BCM FA BCG since it comes with an AR15 BCG and a Sprinco white spring also a H buffer. I also added a Troy battle rail, SOPMOD buttstock and Aimpoint PRO as my optic of choice. Yes those are a lot of changes but the rifle is fine as is out of the box. This rifle has an excellent barrel. The 4150 CMV 5R rifling with 1/8 twist is extremely accurate plus mid-length gas system. Unfortunately the newer Magpul M&P 15's have a 4140 1/9 twist. S&W messed up on that! Make sure you get this version of the Magpul co-branded AR and not the newer version.

Great rifle! Shopped around for a long while before deciding on this one. Although it has an enhanced AR-15 bolt carrier group rather than M4 and melonite barrel rather than chrome lined, everything else is mil-spec as far as I can tell. Shoots very well, perfectly sighted at 50 yds right out of the box. Trigger feels exceptional for a stock trigger. Also love the mid-length gas system. It just feels like a quality precision instrument. Materials are very nice and gun fit is perfect (no looseness to it, easy takedown, well staked). Highly recommend this rifle.

This gun is amazing. Took it out today and fired at least 300 rounds through it without a hickup or problem, including a few 30 round mag dumps. Most gun you can get for the money IMO. Only problem I've had is one of the take-down pins is extremely tight, to the point where I literally need to take a hammer and chisel to get it out. Other than that this is everything I wanted and more, even came with two cool instruction tapes by Magpul with 8 discs total. Highly recommended.

Fantastic rifle. This model by Smith and Wesson could definitely be put into a much higher category of top tier if you slap in a mil spec bolt carrier. Not to say the standard bolt carrier is bad but people are picky. it's definitely a darkhorse. The 1/85r rifling I find more accurate then other barrels including 1/7. The midlength gas system was great from the get go and functioned flawlessly through 120 rounds of various ammo. Mixing steel and brass and no stoppages. Everything was staked well and finish was great except for a small mark by the magwell(not crack think more like a chip). It is the only reason I give it a four out of five stars as I would expect a little better qc from Smith and Wesson. Im sure theyd of replaced it for me but to be honest its not a safe gun and its going to get dings and paint chips regardless. Also it is one of the lighter AR15 I have found out there especially if you consider the price. If I had the money id definitely by another.

Great Transaction!!! It did take all of the 7 days to go into the shipping department and another day to ship out but it only one day to make it to my ffl dealer. The gun is great. Light weight great feel in my hands perfect for me. I haven't shot it yet but I would recommend this rifle a thousand times over. If your debating on a rifle and this is one of your choices I would go with this one hands down. Love it.

Smith & Wesson M&P15 MAGPUL MOE Spec , a mid length AR featuring a unique lower replicated from the infamous MAGPUL billett lower . This rifle is nearly fully mil-spec with the exception of the chrome lining on the barrel which S&W is now lining with their Melonite finish . This rifle has been relatively difficult to find and prices widely varied when you can but BUDs by far had the best price and most consistent availability , kudos to them ! The rifle features all the MAGPUL items you see in the pic and have likely read about but also includes the MAGPUL Dynamics Art of the Tactical Carbine Vol. 1 & 2 in 2nd edition versions as a bonus ! A few things i've noticed about this particular rifle you may be interested in are ... The trigger is single stage but has the nicest smoothest crispest break of any stock factory AR trigger i've ever laid my finger on and if i didn't know any better , from looking at it , it may have been massaged or tweaked . What i mean by this is several of the contact points appear to be polished / bare of their coating and it truly is impressive how soft and smooth it is to pull not to mention short with very little take up to it . Everything on this weapon is also staked and staked well ! It feels tight and has almost no wiggle between the upper and lower . The packaging was adequit and received in tact with no damage or concern as were the contents . HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY ! So much so i'm going to buy another for my wife just like it !

The Smith & Wesson M&P Semi-Automatic 223 Remington/5.56 NATO is a reliable weapon ,I put 600 hundred rounds through it did not jam at all. S&W stands behind there product, I see why! These rifles are built to last, at a fair price.

First off, hats off to Buds for their great service and fast shipping. Once I got this home took it out back and put 90 rounds through it with no issues. Worked well even as I rapid fired 60 of them. Zeroed in for 300 meters and getting groups about the size of a dime. I have fired a S&W AR-15 before but what makes this one even better is the Magpul lower. When doing quick reaction drills I like having the serrated front of the magwell. Wish I had something like this when I was overseas. The flared magazine well makes for quick changes also. The buttstock is nice for someone starting out but I have already order an upgrade on it that. As for the sights, the MBUS sight is great since it is spring loaded, but I am not sold on it so I placed a Troy rear sight. The pistol grip, foreend grip, and handguards nice and light which makes it nice after a day out shooting. For everything you get on this rifle, it is a great buy and the name of both companies are well known and backed up with excellent customer service.

I ordered this rifle on Wednesday of last week and it arrived on Tuesday the following week. What can I say; this rifle is first class all the way. S&W thought of everything. I took it out Saturday to sight it in. Only a small windage adjustment was necessary. I then mounted my quick release scope and sighted it in; I love that flip down rear sight. Sixty rounds without a problem. You can spend more for an AR 15 platform but you won't find a better rifle.

The Good. Great looking weapon. Has all the bells and whistles that the average, non-tactical operator could ever want. The Magpul lower is very nicely done. The magwell is nicely flared at the base and the front serrations are great. The trigger finger indexing ledge is nice and is tapered so as to allow use the the Magpul BAD. Very lightweight, points well and the propitiatory compensator/flash hider is a bonus. Roll in the other Magpul items and DVD's and this is a lot of rifle for the money. Buds had the rifle to my FFL 7 business days after I placed my order. Now, the bad. Watched my FFL open the shipping box and Inspected the weapon inside with my FFL. Everything looked good under the lights. Went outside and opened the box to put the paperwork with the rifle and a glint on the right side of the upper receiver caught my eye. A small dent at the bottom upper receiver was revealed in the light of the sun. I'll admit it's minor, but it appears the bottom of the receiver was banged against something or the entire rifle was dragged dropped on something (if you hold the lower receiver at the right angle, you can see a rub mark leading up to the dent). Now, I have no idea if the box had been opened at Buds prior to shipment. In all likelihood, the rifle was drop shipped from a distributor. I took pictures while at my FFL and called S&W when I got home. Customer service was great. The said they'd have a box and label to me in a few days. I asked about just swapping out the upper receiver, but they said they wanted the entire rifle to ensure nothing else was possibly wrong. As I said earlier, I don't know when the damage occurred. It could have happened anywhere. In any case, what I learned was. 1. Buds had a great price and shipped in a timely manner. 2. It's appears to be a GREAT rifle. 3. Inspect your rifle in the light of day when possible. Store lights may not disclose the entire picture. 4. S&W's initial customer service response was outstanding. They said their turnaround time would be 2 to 4 weeks. I'll update after S&W gets back with me.
