Bond Arms Texas Defender 45 Long Colt Derringer w/3" Barrel [BATD45COLT]
$364.00

Question: What do you get when you put a 1.5" round in to a 3" barrel? Answer: The only gun in my collection that makes me flinch.
It's a fun little wildcat. At seven yards I can at least keep it within an 18" target, although the holes in two of my clamps attest to that being just barely. Besides the obviously strong recoil of such a small weapon firing that large a round, it has a very strong, non-adjustable, trigger pull. My wife can't pull the trigger at all.
The stiff trigger is designed for the models that have no trigger guard (you don't want it going off in your pocket). For the models like this one, with a guard, I wish there was a way to lighten the trigger up a bit.
It is a finely made firearm. Machining, fit and finish are very nice. As far as self defence, a 45 Colt bullet will certainly stop an aggressor in his tracks, they just need to be fairly close to make sure you hit them. However, the same can be said of a LOT of the small, pocket sized concealed carry pistols being sold now.
I chose this 45 Colt only model for the extra inch of rifling over the 45/.410 barrel. As accuracy goes, that was pointless. I'll probably buy the 45/.410 replacement barrel for this frame before long.
