Williams Firesights For Browning Buck Mark [70231]
$43.94

I would not recommend this product for the Buckmark at this time. I have the Camper UDX purchased in July of 2012. The rear sight did not line up properly. It was about 1 mm off in the rear where the screw would bind once the front pin was re-inserted. 1mm might not seem like a lot, but in CNC terminology, that is a mile. I can't say if Browning made a change, or if there is a problem with the Williams machining, but it will take a lot of patience and grinding to get this to properly fit. The original sight went back in without a problem and is aligned perfectly. After attempting the install, I explained the issues to a gentlemen by the name of Steve at Williams. They asked me to send them the sight. I did. A week or so later, they called me and stated they were sending me another. They didn't say if they even looked at the one I sent them for quality control. The new one was sent to me a few weeks later (after a couple of phone calls spread out over a week each to see if they remembered) and fit exactly like the first one. I probably could have gone through all of this again, but it wasn't worth it to me to wait another month as they did not seem too proactive about finding root of the problem. I think they need to get a new Buckmark and do some testing with this unit. The quality is only fair. The lettering is partially worn off and it just looks a little cheap. This is a different version from what I have seen on the Internet of others. They made some changes to the design including the windage adjustment. When you compare it to the workmanship of the original sight, you can appreciate Browning's design, even though it is just a plain old iron sight, but adjustable.
Now...The optics are really great. If I am able to adjust this to work now, I think I will really enjoy it and can look past the problems. I am just glad I had the tools and experience enough to use them to get the job done. This is not a bash on Williams, but this product did not fit my firearm and the quality of this item was not impressive. I believe this is the only rear site like this available for the Buckmark, so I felt it worth my time to attempt to modify it, given the quality of the optics.
