Smith & Wesson 45LC Mountain/4" Blue Barrel/Adjustable Sight
[160929]
$616.00
by Jack H Date Added: Wednesday 16 December, 2009
After wanting a Mountain Gun for years I finally got a Model 25-13 from Buds. It arrived just a few days after ordering and it was in excellent condition; just as advertized. In comparision with my 686 SSR the Model 25 actually feels lighter; it must be the superb balance and the form fitting Ahrernds grips. The blueing is deep and polished and is offset by the contrast of the wood grips. I plan on trying some oil on the grips to darken them up a little. My holster arrived from Simply Rugged a day after the gun so the timing was perfect. The sourghdough pancake holster carries the MG close to the body and distributes the weight very good. Again, I still can't believe this N frame conceals just as nicely as my 686. The 625 stainless model is very nice also but to me it just doesn't have the character of a fine traditional handgun like the Model 25.
Only one con: the forward screw of the side place is protruding a little so I tightened it about 1/2 turn and it is much better but not completely smooth.
If your'e interesed, I got the MG for camping and hiking but it will be used for concealed carry, at least for the winter months.
