I purchased this gun and drove down to Lexington to pick it up brought it home and cleaned it with some MPro7. Works great. This is a lot of gun for the money.
I fired 100 rounds of Winchester FMJ range/target ammo through it with no hiccups, and of course 20 of my Speer Gold Dot HPs ran flawlessly as well. The gun comes with 2 of the hi capacity 14 round magazines , a decent little plastic foam lined case, and a generic gun lock. Also the 50 MIR or 2 free mags makes it a sweet deal.
The gun has a fully supported chamber so firing +P ammo will do good in this gun.
The gun fees like it was made for my hand, the angle of the grip suits many types of hands and makes it easy to aim. The sights pick up quick, and could probably benefit from a little glow in the dark paint, but still good for this gun. Also the slide release is a good size and easy to hit.
I had trouble fitting all 14 rounds in the mags the first few times but after a little breaking in i can fill 1 with 14 every time, which is a good sign of a fresh spring. Field stripping is as simple as any gun. This gun is a good full sized hand gun but is still able to be every day concealed with the right clothing. I purchased a Planet Holster "Agent Kangaroo" holster and it fits great on my belt. If you add the MIR to this you can't get a better piece of hardware in either 9mm or 40 S&W for 250 bucks.
Of course the trigger is a little heavy; its part of the internal safety mechanism, but if you are used to a double action revolver it won't be that much of a difference. Also there are numerous ways to make it lighter if you want to lose your warranty. Just google "sigma trigger fix" and you will find many different solutions. One option would be to remove the very tiny spring on striker retainer group in the back of the frame and/or you can change the striker spring as well. I know people who have lighter striker springs and still don't have any issues with mis-fires or anything like that.
I really can't say any more about this gun, if your looking for a simple no frills home defense or personal defense handgun you really can't beat 29 rounds of reliable 40 S&W on your hip for the entry price. This would be a great buy for anyone in the security business who can't pony up a lot of cash at once but still want a good gun. If you own a lot of nicer guns this would be a nice "truck gun" as well, something that can take a beating but you won't cry if it gets stolen.
