I was in the military and have only really shot the beretta m9. Although very reliable and a fantastic gun, I was never really a huge fan. I did a lot of research before purchasing a firearm and came down to either the cz75b compact or the p01, though eventually I'll have both I chose to get the p01 for the reason being that I wanted a self defense gun that I could have locked and loaded and when the time came to use it for it's purpose I did not have to fumble with the safety. Now I am no pistol marksman, though I am a pretty decent shot even under stress this gun has absolutely lived up to my expectations and them some. I've only had it for about 2 weeks at the most probably less and have shot 400+ rounds through it. I've been shooting federals, remington umc's, hydra shoks, winchester defense, and some winchester nato rounds to name a few and it has not had a ftf or fte at all. I've been shooting in the desert while a wind storm was happening and have had nothing but good luck with this firearm. Military habits die hard so I do clean the weapon often and every time it gets shot, and it has been nothing but a gem. Not the easiest gun to field strip but if you have a soft impact tool that can detach the locking pin then you're as good as gold. My girlfriend also loves this handgun, she's fired a ruger p95 and a keltec and she says that those guns don't even compare to the ergonomics of this one. Highly recommended and I'd rely on this firearm to keep me and everyone around me safe if I ever have to deploy it in a self defense situation. The da/sa trigger pull I think works well for the firearm, it might be heavy pulls but I actually enjoy it. It just fits like a glove, and CZ has gotten a lifer out of me.
