Savage 17799 116FCSS DBM 270 WIN
[17799]
$675.00

This was my first hunting rifle that I had purchased. I was considering a 30-06 but after shooting both that and the 0270 (this rifle) I decided on the .270. My budget allowed for a Remington or even a Browning, but after comparing those models with this Savage, I decided to go with it. I am more than pleased with this rifle. It's like an mid 1980's Toyota truck: she isn't pretty, but she is unbreakable and reliable. I purchased a Buckmaster's 3-9x40 BDC scope for it ( The Redfield is just as good, it was just out of stock) and together they are outstanding. the action is smooth and the Accutrigger is absolutely AMAZING! This model has the Accustock which I am not sure if it will make a difference. I spent days online and the general consensus is 50/50 that it makes a difference. Either way this was my first Rifle and I wasn't going to cheap out. I believe in doing something right the first time, and if you can't afford it then save up until you can. The rifle itself is not flashy but I have already put it up Bear hunting in Conconully Washington, which is 30 miles from the Canadian border. No bear, but I did have a blast and the rifle shot just fine. It retails for $850 and after taxes, transfer, and DROS I paid $790 thanks to Buds. I am very pleased with this rifle and the .270 caliber. I did my research for over a month and feel confident I amde the right choice. Thank you Savage and Thank You Buds.
