What can be said about the P226 that hasn't already been said? It may be a bit pricey, but this is a gun for life. The Nitron finish is beautiful and surprisingly durable. The action is smooth as butter, helped out by the full-length slide rails on the frame. Very accurate out of the box. The E2 grips are the best stock grips I've ever handled. The texture is very rough, but not quite as rough as sandpaper, just perfect.
here are a few caveats, but in my opinion does not detract from the overall package.
- Make sure to clean thoroughly and lube with both oil and grease, for optimal performance.
- these guns are new but they will arrive with barrel wear. Don't fret, it's normal,
- I have the version w/ the E2 grips. They come with American-made Sig factory mags holding 15rds. These magazines are inferior to what Sigs used to come with - Sig-stamped made in Italy mec gar mags. The American made mags do not lock back on an empty round (although they will do so if you manually lock it back). You will need extra mags anyway, so go with the aftermarket Mec Gar 18rd flush fit mags - they are better quality and cheaper than factory mags.
