H&K M723001-A5 MARK 23 12+1 45ACP 5.87" V1
by Christopher P Date Added: Sunday 14 February, 2010
An excellent .45 pistol with an interesting service pedigree. The Mark 23 has a sort of "big gun" charisma, but it is still easy to operate. It is lighter than it looks thanks to mass removing measures that make it weigh a little more than a normal service pistol. This makes it feel a little bit bloated compared to a more compact USP tactical or Expert. Soft shooting for a .45. Trigger feels 'service pistol' - this is not as smooth feeling as a worked over M1911. High price point and slight feeling of 'commando fanboy' are the main drawbacks compared to a more practical model. The new versions do not come with the very nice soft case any more - so another slight minus. There are more practical choices for service / self defense - but makes for an interesting and fun range pistol / collector piece. I've enjoyed mine very much.
Bud's service on this purchase was excellent and the purchase was shipped to my local dealer promptly. Will definitely buy from them again.
