This is one of those guns that will never leave my collection. Sure, HK has made some improvements in design and ergos on their newer pistols. But the USP45 full size is a classic with a long history of rugged dependability and outstanding accuracy. They just shoot everything without hiccups, and everyone knows it. Plus you get more capacity than with the hk45, which it crucial in a combat pistol. I also like the simplistic utilitarian look of the USP over the hk45 (but I'm not knocking the hk45 at all, it looks great). But to me, the USP45 is the 1911 of polymers. Only cons are a heavy DA trigger, expensive extra mags, and a large grip. I have medium hands and I put a hogue hand-all on mine and I like it alot. This is a big gun, but it's also a full sized pistol and it delivers on all the areas that a full size should excel in. Shots the .45 softer than my p226 .40 s&w. I smiled the first time on the range b/c I wasn't expecting the level of accuracy and shootability in a .45 cal that the USP delivered. I think that if you only want to own one polymer pistol the USP series is a worthy choice. Can't wait to be shooting this thing like 50 years from now. It's a true milestone pistol in my opinion.
