Upon arrival this thing was dirty. Like been to the range, shot 500 rounds, soaked in oil and grease for months dirty. I've never seen such a dirty "new" gun. Maybe it took Taurus several (hundreds!) of rounds to get this thing tuned. Strange.
The second thing I noticed was that the rear sight is canted/crooked. Probably a good 5-7 degrees off. Just enough so that it's noticable with the naked eye. Annoying and an obvious lack of QC at Taurus. It makes me wonder what else slipped through the QC cracks.
Anyway after I cleaned it up and resigned myself to the fact that the rear sight will always be just a little bit "wrong" I headed to the range. It fed nicely and behaved well with the WWB I fed it. It shot low and left but I'm inclined to say it was as much user error as the gun itself. The plastic grips leave a lot to be desired.
Overall I'd give this 3.5 stars but I'll round that up to 4. If I had to do it again I'd spend an extra 25-50 bucks and get a Springfield (even if it has a few less bells and whistles).
