Finally received this weapon after an extended wait (due to my error, not Buds').
First, the service at Bud's is superb; they shipped my order in an extremely timely fashion, and exceeded every expectation I had as a first time buyer!
On to the firearm:
The Beretta PX4 Storm is an elegant weapon in my opinion. Its extreme simplicity and ergonomic construction make for a weapon that can be made to fit the hand as desired, allows for rapid acquisition of target, and fires with negligible recoil. The gun breaks down into just four components, and reassembly can be easily accomplished by a novice with minimal mechanical knowledge. Overall, i have been very pleased with the weapon.
Having fired only 75 rounds (50x Blazer FMJ 115gr, 25x Remington Golden Saber HPJ 124gr), I understand that the gun has not truly reached the point of being "broken in" as of yet. However it already operates perfectly. I have experienced no failures to feed or fire, and it is extremely accurate (I attribute a very wide spread at 25 yards to being a nervous and novice shooter).
Some concerns i have with the firearm:
Upon breakdown, many of the edges on the polymer frame are rather rough and have a few plastic tags, however some light cleanup with little more than fingernails and a light sanding have resolved that issue.
The feed ramp is composed of the same polymer as the remainder of the weapon's frame, which may prove to suffer from wear after extended use, however I have not confirmed if that is the case.
The squared off (chamber) side of the rotating barrel makes contact with the slide upon firing, causing a minor scratch to develop near where the serial number and chambering are indicated on the exposed section of the barrel. I do not believe this will cause any significant defect to develop.
Overall:
I love this firearm; everything about it seems to be designed for simplicity and custom use. It is fairly lightweight, looks stunning, and fires with very little recoil. If you're looking for a simple, lightweight, and large capacity firearm, i'd definitely recommend it!
