I purchased one of these for my youngest daughter. Two huge advantages to this rifle were that she already had her own AR- so she can shoot the 5.56 mm round with minimal anticipated recoil AND she already has a good supply of mags (from a versatility standpoint). The rifle shoots and functions well with iron sights, but the factory stock leaves much to be desired- it was hard for either of us to achieve a good cheek-to-stock weld.

I was pleased with the rifle, but it does have a couple quirks that needed figuring out. For my rifle, the gas setting has to be at 3 for it to cycle consistently and it does not like the P-Mags that it came with. I had at least one malfunction per mag when using P-mags. As soon as I switched over to standard GI style mags it had no problems at all. The magazine well does not allow mags to drop freely when the mag release is pressed, so some filing may be needed to get it how you like it. Other than that, the gun has been great to shoot, and everything I could've wanted. Being an AR guy, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to have an AK without having to buy all the 7.62 ammo for it. This thing will eat steel cased .223 all day, where I typically don't like to shoot through my AR's. I definitely recommend this gun, but had to give it four stars for the magazine issue.

I had always kind of wanted an AK 5.56 so I figured this would fit the bill. Long story short......not so much. On the plus side it fed reliably, went bang every trigger pull, and though the finish was a little rough, all of the parts fit together fine. On the not so great side, the sights are so low they are all but unusable. In order to get a sight picture I needed to take a really firm cheek weld on the stock. This is a pretty hard recoiling rifle, especially for being a 5.56, and my face was black and blue halfway through the first magazine. Even just sighting down the barrel and not trying to use the sights at all the rifle was pretty unpleasant to shoot. Maybe others will have better luck with it than I did. I sold it for a loss after putting two or three magazines through it. :-(

It's an AK. A good AK. Built like a tank. Runs flawlessly. Accessories are getting much more available as these AK's gain popularity. This is the lighter weight receiver model, which makes this rifle a real joy to lug around, but also increases felt recoil. Just an FYI.

Heard these were not being produced anymore (something about Zastava focusing on military contracts?) Snatched one up. Nice example of a 5.56x45 AK. STANAG compliant polymer adapter is tough (as tested by AKOU) Due to 922r injected parts, the Typical AK polishing job needed on trigger, hammer, bolt, and rails (lot's of video on this are out there). Works like butter now. I leave it on gas setting 2. Test your mags to determine which freely drop (PMAG Gen3 seem to work best for me). If you can find it, get it, before it's gone.

I bought this when it dropped to $600, got to keep an eye on what you want for a while, prices do fluctuate quite a bit at times. Onto the gun. At first I had a very difficult time charging the weapon, and the bolt did hang up on the hammer constantly. Knowing these weapons, I knew I had to either replace the fire control group or start doing some polishing. I took the easy way, and spent $25 on a Tapco G2 Double Hook Complete Fire Control Group. Immediately I noticed the hammer used by Century was higher and causing interference on both when I charged the weapon and the hammer also sat higher when charged, causing the hang ups.. Replaced the FCG and charging was very easy and could not get bolt to hang up no matter what I did. $25 fix and have an excellent weapon at a great cost.

Received within a week or so of order. Bud's got the monies on the 22SEPT and shipped on the 26th. Received product on the 28th at my FFL/2days via FEDX. Arrived in great shape. Have yet to fire the AK 5.56, but will in near future. Thanks to all the previous feedbacks as they were instrumental in what I ordered as well as Bud's price plus free shipping. Look forward to ordering more from this web site as you just about always know what an item will cost you. Best, Ralph

Ordered on Friday night arrived on Tuesday! Now that is fast. The m90 zastava Npap 556/223 this ak is solid, and the ability to use ar mags makes this the best of both worlds. I had been looking at this gun along time, and always found it interesting. And now I finally have it! I'm very happy right now.

Very nice AK. Had to drift the front sight post a bit to get it on target. This thing is accurate and soft shooting! I like that I can use steel cased ammo and AR mags in it. Added a rear sling mount and AK sling to it. Front handguards hold up to the heat of firing a hundred rounds well. I have had the gas block on the 2 setting and it is very reliable once broken in. I would recommend shooting some 5.56 NATO through it at first to help everything break in properly. My magazines don't all drop free and most require a little tug to come out. I believe you can do a little filing inside the mag well if this is an issue for you. I have a Yugo stock adapter on the way so I can add an M4 style collapsible stock. The original stock is O.K. but if it can take AR mags why not an AR stock? I also replaced the slant break with a 14 X 1 LH thread muzzle break. Get one while they last!

This is a great rifle for the money!!! The ability to shoot 556 out of this rifle and use AR mags is a huge upside. Buds shipped quickly and the rifle came in great packaging and perfect condition. Hats off to Buds for a great product for great prices and free shipping. This rifle is my go to rifle and shoots like a dream. Recoil is like shooting a 22. Can't recommend highly enough.

I love this rifle! I have four other Zastava rifles/AK pistols (M77 (308), M70, M92 and M85) and they are all great shooters. Zastava must have fixed the mag drop issue because this rifle drops metal and polymer mags with no issues. I have the rifle set on the lowest setting and it shoots Federal 223 like a 22 rifle. It is also very accurate. I took off the cheap plastic stock and put on a Magpul Zhukov (for Yugos) and swapped out the handguards with Hogue ones (for Yugos). Looks very sharp! There's a pretty good video on YouTube regarding this rifle. A "torture test" on the M90NP and they had very little issues with it. I highly recommend this rifle! Bud's shipped it super fast!

Extremely soft Recoil. I have sub 2" groups up to 300 yards with the rifle. You may have to work with the gas system as it is adjustable. If your ammo is weak you will need to make sure the rifle is set on 3. Standard brass case was fine on 2 but wolf 3 was needed. My copy the magazines drop free and have had zero issues with Pmags, Tapco, USGI, and thermold. Apart from a light cycle with the gas setting way to low the rifle has never jammed or failed once the setting was corrected. You can add a Zhukov stock easily to this rifle and optics can be mounted. This rifle is every bit as accurate as my AR. I only wish it had a bolt stop but then why would you buy a definitive arms if you could get this at this price point with that feature? I love it and am definitely glad I got it.

this is a poorly designed nightmare. the kick when you rest your cheek on the stock and fire almost knocks your teeth out. The hammer sticks up like a big brake and impedes the back and forth motion of the bolt and piston. I had to install a wolff extra power spring just to get any action out of it. And it jams at least 2 times per 30 round mag no matter how you clean it. Also the magazine release sticks and you really have to push and pull to get the magazine out. Lastly the rifle heats up very rapidly and I cant even figure out why. After about 60 rounds its really hot. DO NOT BUY THIS GUN. IT IS A POS.
