I've searched for years for the perfect 9mm and CZ lives up to its reputation with the 75D. With the SA/DA action, locked breech, and metal frame it has the lightest recoil of anything I've ever owned. This is the semi-auto you want to own if you prefer a revolver. I found it well-balanced. Other pistols slam backwards when the slide locks open after the last round but not this model. I was able to easily drop the empty magazine and release the slide with my shooting hand. The beavertail and thick rubber grips make it a joy to shoot.

CZ's models can be confusing. The PCR is the compact 9mm model, metal frame, decocking lever, with a loaded chamber indicator. The chamber indicator is not a very popular feature on the CZ line but I find it reassuring after shooting a Glock for several years.

Breakdown and cleaning was much easier than expected and does not require dry firing. Pulling the hammer back half-way is a trick to quickly align the slide to remove the locking pin.

If you only own one semi-auto, this would be high on my list of "must own's."
