CZ USA CZ452 Lux 5 + 1 .22 LR Bolt Action w/Blue Barrel & W
[02001]

I was so excited about getting my first CZ 452 Lux, ordered it online as no one had any nearby. At least so I thought. From all of the reviews and the pics that I have seen, I had hoped for a quality rifle.Upon opening the box, I was at first very disappointed, the stock is nothing but plain, at first, I thought it was beech, but it is walnut. For sure not the Turkish walnut as advertised. But I thought, ok , I can live with that. Just going to hunt squirrels and bunnies with it. The action has to be the stiffest that I have ever felt, on any type of weapon. But again, I thought it'll break in over time. Them we come to the safety, backwards, to some, but no big deal. It is all just what you get used to. I have shotguns with tang safeties, trigger guard safeties, heck I even have a shotgun with no safety. But this thing on the CZ is almost impossible to engage or disengage. Then I find out that the gun will not even fire. Tried with and without mag installed. With and without round chambered. Nothing. the only way it will fire is by holding the trigger and wiggling the safety up and down. So ok , I can touch up those parts a bit to get them to clear each other. I used a small file and then stoned them with a hard Arkansas stone. Thought I had her ready to shoot, although, should you not be able to use it as it comes from the factory? Anyway, went to the range yesterday. It fired one round, and then nothing. And I was certainly not going to stand in the range and start trying to get it to fire by holding the trigger back and fumbling with the safety and then have a round go off by accident. Got it back home and once again took apart the bolt. Only to find that now the safety appears to be hanging up on the striker spring support. The flat on the shaft of the safety is not milled at the correct angle to mate with the flat on the support. Thus it holds the safety at the wrong angle to allow the striker to move forward when pressing the trigger. Not only does this make the weapon useless, but it is dangerous as H3LL to have to fiddle with the safety and then have the weapon fire on its own.
Morel of this story, I will never buy another CZ again. Hope you all have good luck with ours.
