The PLR16 is great for home defense. I like an AR-15 but it's big and a little difficult to keep in a drawer by your bed. The PLR16 has very similar capability yet it is compact and very easy to store. I've had my PLR16 for about two years and it has never missed a beat, no jams and no FF. It is just what the doctor ordered with a Tac light and laser as I have mine set up. The trigger is light and the gun can be fired very fast and it hits dead on the laser beam. It doesn't kick much so you can fire it with one hand while keeping a free hand. This is very helpful in the home security role. Yet, the ,223 is a very potent round, can be purchased for around the same cost as a 22 magnum or a 9MM round. Since ammo is so cheap, I can get a lot of practice. I love this gun. It's great for what it was designed for.
