Upon receiving my Beretta M9A1, I field stripped, cleaned and oiled before going to the range. So far, I have put 200 rounds through the weapon without a single malfunction of any sort, firing Speer Lawman 124 gr TMJ.
This is my first handgun so I can't say a lot in the way of comparison to other models, but I love my Beretta! Fit and finish is excellent, good feel in my hand, tight grouping on the range. What more could I want?
Obviously this gun is too large for most CCW purposes, but I'm using this as my primary home defense piece. I got the "A1" model because I wanted the accessory rail; I have since mounted a TLR-2s laser / tac light combo and am very happy with the pairing.
