As I get older, "less" becomes "more". Less weight, less recoil, less maintenance, less price all become more important. The Tikka 6.5x55 does a good job of being "more" on all accounts.
Using "cheapest" imported ammo (I bought it for the brass), 1.5" groups were easy using a 4x scope. My two 16FHSS Savages w/Accustock (250 Savage and 7mm WSM) shot better initial groups (sub MOA), but I used handloads testing them. I haven't tried handloads/good bullets as yet with the Tikka.
My wife liked the rifle so much I had to buy another.
