Smith & Wesson 442 .38 Spl+P 1-7/8" Black
by Thomas S
Date Added: Friday 18 September, 2009
I haven't had much luck with newer (90's and newer) Smith and Wesson. I was hoping this would change all that. Unfortunately, I was wrong.
I'll start with the positive aspects of the firearm: This gun is reasonably priced. Very Light Weight. Easy to Conceal. Doesn't have a hammer to get caught up on something while drawing it from concealment. It's black (as I believe all concealed carry guns should be).
As for the negative: After firing just over 50 rounds, It got harder and harder for the cylinder to turn. I thought it was the ammunition I was using. So I thoroughly cleaned the firearm and went back to the range with another brand of ammo. Same issue. As I was shooting it I could tell the cylinder was getting harder and harder to turn.
I've got another (non smith&wesson) firearm and shot the same ammo that the smith was having problems with without any problems.
What puzzles me is everyone else was very positive in there reviews... so I don't know if I just got a lemon or maybe the S&W's just don't like me.
